Prime example. No one would have faulted Andersen but he still made the save. Changes the game. That's the difference.

Oh, so that's what a goalie stopping a puck in a tight situation looks like...

Flames have allowed 4 or more goals 24 times this year. No one has done it more.

This is definitely not a top 5 defense.

Does anybody in the league get robbed by great goaltending more than Sam Bennett?

Anaheim announcers with no excitement over there save on Bennett. Boring broadcast.

Players

Goalies

Coaches (team defense)

Where does the fault lie?

The coaching staff deserves some blame for this as team defense has been terrible throughout most of Hartley's tenure.

Actually, if there's one thing we can learn from the Habs situation, it's how much an elite tender can cover up an otherwise very average hockey clubs mistakes.

You really get no 3rd period comeback feeling from these Flames this year.

Let's put it another way...

The weakest defenses in the league aren't giving up that many 4 goal games. Do the Flames have the worst defensemen in the league? Or is there something else going on?

All of the above. Add Treliving too. Lots of hand sitting. I'm sure he has the phone duct taped to his head like everyone says he does, but there's definitely something he should be doing too.

Haha, they had to show Bieksa's sucker punches to make that lil rivalry look not so one sided.

That Ferland/Bieksa fight still pisses me off. Bieksa is such a turd.

The last thing I want to see the GM do is make knee-jerk, or short-sighted trades.

Patience is everything when it comes to GMing

The Flames allowed 9 goals on the power play in the last three games. Is that on the players in front of the goalie's fault, or is it on the goalie for not being able to stop a puck.

Yes, the Flames have allowed 4+ 24 times, but how many of those time have the goalies allowed stoppable pucks to get by them. There were 4 of those today.

The Oilers Top 6 actually play better team defense than our bottom 4 and kill penalties better. Luckily they have no top pair.
