Bouma being scratched again? I wonder if this is performance related (he hasn't been great after all since returning to the lineup) or he has been singled out.

Oh. Well I disagree with Hartley on that one, but I like that hes still focused on making the playoffs.

I wonder if he bought a powerball ticket?

I dont know enough about Nakladal, I really wanted to see what he could do and was hoping that he might be a reasonable substitute when one of Wideman or Russell gets launched into the Sun.

Jooris and Granlund have been playing well.

Bollig over Bouma is really the only question mark.

Jooris showed good hustle last night for sure. That said it seems like he's just an energy player at this point. Hopefully Granlund is off the snide as he's a guy that can be a contributor for this team in the future but he needs to start producing.

I hear Marc Spector is too busy writing an expose on hockey message board owners and their rampant abuse of CDC paste.

I'm quite mystified by the idea that players like Nakladal are in such positions of entitlement: how much leverage does he really have in deciding his own fate here? It seems unlikely to me that he will be entertaining multiple offers from various NHL teams.

There are lots of teams short on D that would give him a legitimate shot.

I guess Bouma was the 'ring leader' and is being further punished for bringing those two choir boys into his den of evil.

(i thought it was implied, but apparently is needed /green text)

I'm not concerned about pumping his tires or being afraid that hes going to walk, I just want to see what we've got. Guy is 27 if hes got NHL chops then we could sign him for less for maybe 5 years and supplement our top 4.

But if hes garbage then we need to know so we can decide whether to keep fishing or cut bait.

So we aren't in a position to give Nakladal more than 2 minutes of NHL ice time, but we're in a position to scratch our two best forwards?

And I guess we weren't in a position to play Nakladal at the start of the year for the same reasons. Because the defense was playing solid to start the year and he couldn't ruin their chemistry? Damnit Hartley...

nope he is just not anywhere near as good of a player as the other two...that is the reality of the situation. Should be a wakeup call if he wants to make millions of dollars for playing a kids game.

The other two will always have a spot in the league

He is really making some bad decisions lately. If I was Nak I would be pretty pissed. 2 min of ice time is a slap in the face. He should have left him off the ice if he didn't plan to play him.

Yeah I'm still not happy how Nakladal was handled.

Player notice stuff like that and remember even if it doesn't happen to them personally.

Nakladal must be the most overrated player on CP since Boyd. He was brought in as depth in case of injuries, that is it. There hasn't been injuries, so he doesn't play. He is 28 with no NHL experience and people think he is going to be an improvement on players that have 100s of games in the NHL? IF (and it's a big if) he gets another NHL contact next year, he'll be in the same position regardless of who signs him, depth in case of injuries.

I think the less he plays, the more his legend grows.

Guys, calm down about Nakladal. We have a trade deadline coming up, and I don't think the Flames will stand pat. He will get ice time in due time.

Agreed. If Granlund could just prove he can be a consistent NHLer, it would give the Flames tons of flexibility going into the offseason. I like his game and really hope he will do it.

Wrong. People aren't saying Nakladal is this or that. They are saying the guy has played very well in the minors, and we should see how he can play in the NHL. If he sucks, at least we know.

Dressing him and playing him for 2 shifts is stupid. Why even dress him ?
