One of those rare nights where Gaudreau had a bad game. I thought Hudler and Monahan played well but Johnny was a turnover machine tonight. Ferland had a good game. It he just had better finish he could have been a difference maker tonight. I didn't think the Flames played terrible but I didn't think they played smart. Way too many turnovers and fancy passing. I think they got that quick start and thought it was going to be an easy one for them and they started trying to put on a show instead of grind out a win.

Imagine if we had prime Iggy on the wing with Johnny? That would've tied the game for sure.

It blows my mind how we really only have two competent veteran hockey players on this team. All others are vastly overpaid.

I'd like the Flames to let Colborne go....guy makes about 10 useless plays to every good one. Doesn't use his size, either.

Free up that roster spot, please.

Still. We can't beat a last place team who is playing their 3rd game in four nights, and on a back to back. Yikes. You gotta win these games if you want to get back in the race. Their goalie played well though.
Problem is, it is not uncommon for this team to make goalies look good.

This is the kind of game that makes the beginning of the season really hurt. We didn't play great, but we played much better than CBJ and ran into a hot goalie.

Had we not started the season so abysmally, this game wouldn't much matter. As we did, this game is suddenly important in the worst possible way: getting us closer to a top-3 draft pick.

Sucks to have blown the season in October.

Allow me to satisfy tht craving.

Colborne is the def of peripheral player. He is Blair Jones and that other idiot Feaster got from the Jackets - so generic his name is not worth remembering.

Just dump him somewhere and bring up a kid.

You are a desperate team. And you lose at home to a very bad team on the second night of a back to back. Flames are not a good team this year.

Still waiting for Hamilton to be a difference maker. And for all the salary tied up in our 3rd and 4th lines, they very rarely outplay the opposition.

Even prime Glencross would have tied that game

If we got "owned" why did we out-shoot them 31 to 18? Doesn't sound like "owning" if you ask me. We hit a hot goalie.

I had high hopes for Colborne, but he just can't put it all together. Pretty much any Stockton player would be better in his place at this point.

Is that what constitutes competency? Salary?

I mean, David Jones is a perfectly competent hockey player. So is Laddy. They're just both overpaid

Just doesn't think the game well. Occasionally he's really good winning board battles but that one aspect doesn't make up for being poor everywhere else.
