Not sure how you're gauging "most" but the only place I've really seen him defended is here. Everything I've read online would contradict what you're saying and basically everyone I've spoken to in real life would as well. I'd say even half the people here would probably disagree.

I don't know, if they deem there was intent the minimum is 20 games I think.

20 games would cost Wideman $1.28 million before tax and that is just absurd for this sequence of events.

he is not getting 25 games the ref didn't even give him the misconduct with the automatic suspension

Without intent, unless there's a rule I haven't seen, they can't even suspend him. The rule I've seen requires deliberate abuse, even for the lesser offence.

based on what...if the officials thought he intentionally attacked them they would have given a misconduct

he is not getting 25 games and if they try it won't stick. He has also never been suspended for anything

No, it'd be somewhere in the $565K range. Unless they're repeat offenders, players forfeit one day's salary for each game they're suspended. With 186 days in the season, a 20 game suspension means 20 days' lost pay which is 10.75% of the season.

It will be a hard sell that it wasn't deliberate. In fact I don't think I have seen anyone outside of this thread try and make that argument, as mentioned earlier in this thread.

I predict 21 games. 1 game for the actual hit, then 20 extra games to satisfy the public. I really think that the reason they wait a few days to make these rulings is so they can gauge how mad people are.
