I hope we get the chance to see Agostino with the Flames this year.

Agostino goes to the penalty box right after.

I'm hoping if the Flames sell at the deadline that they move a handful of forwards beyond just Hudler and Jones so they can try out guys like Grant, Hamilton, Agostino and Shore in the NHL in the last month. Might find they have legit bottom sixers there for the future.

Nakladal with a penalty as the Agostino penalty expired.

Grant seems to be a constant threat while shorthanded.

I haven't watched him during this season, but he is putting points on the board, which should be expected with his offensive abilities. No idea how he is playing in his own zone.
I watched him some in his last year in Brandon and he was their go to guy on defence. I don't know why he didn't impress in the Flames camp but his lack of a contract probably had more to do with an over stock of defencemen in the minors than anything.

Shore with a pair of point blank shots on the PK.

His decision making defensively seemed slow and that he'd be reacting late to plays when I saw him instead of actively attempting to dictate the play with the opposing forwards like we see most of the time with D-men. There was not a lot progression on his play from his draft year to this year in that regard, which I think was the reason why they moved on.

I have nothing against Roy as a player and hope he puts it together eventually. Converting him to a forward might not be a bad idea either as he does have some skill.

Stockton with 3 good chances but Laurikainen robbed them.

Grant pounces on a turnover in the slot, walks in all alone and scores his 2nd of the night! 3-1.

Might be the best game I've watched from Poirier and Klimchuk as well.

Klimchuk just missed on the re-direct. Grant rifled one that Laurikainen just got enough of to keep it out.

What are your thoughts in terms of NHL potential for the Stockton players Caged Great?

Grant continues to impress me, I could see him being a solid 4th line centre as is but he has much better offensive instincts and skills than I expected.

Poirier and Klimchuk have looked great, really hoping they can make the jump to the Flames. I was pretty disappointed Shore didn't snag a spot to start the year.

I think most of the guys have 3rd/4th line potential. All of Grant, Hamilton, Shore, Agostino, Arnold, Smith, Carroll fit in that generic profile. I agree with Grant. The pipeline for quality depth players is well stocked, which I think we'll start seeing some graduations sooner than later so they can spend the 10 million they are spending on the 4th liner/press box guys elsewhere (Jones/Stajan/Raymond/Bollig) If you're spending more than 5 million on your 4th line, you're doing something wrong.

With those guys, whether they develop into good 4th line guys or are just filler like Jooris has become this year is a mystery that won't be determined till the get a shot.

Poirier and Klimchuk I think will be 3rd line players on a championship calibre team (2nd liners if you're an okay team). A guy like Frolik would be the rough expectation I have for the pair. Able to contribute at both ends of the ice while not being able to drive the play all by themselves. High quality depth that helps push teams over the top if they are building a contender.

Shore had a slow start but is putting things together once again. Probably will be a full timer after the deadline.

Awesome, thanks CG.

I completely agree about the 4th line, that's the easiest role to replace with cost-effective youth.

Kylington looked completely lost on what to do on that Condors goal.
