Well, green might not mean no contact. But he's the only one wearing it.

They should just sit Hudler until he's fully healed and ready to go. They need him healthy at the trade deadline.

Kristen Odland @KristenOdlandCH
Okay now he left to the dressing room. #Hudlergate
Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Hudler has now left the ice. Was out there for a few minutes, did not look comfortable at all. #Flames

Hiller is in the starter's net, for what it's worth.

Big game against the Oilers. I'm surprised Hiller may start.

He deserves the start.
I'm a huge Ramo supporter but you don't bench a goalie who posted a shutout.

Sounds more like he got rushed back from a groin injury, took a few strides and figured: nope, nope, nope!
I've been there with hamstring injuries. It feels fine and then you go out to practice and you make that one move and you can just feel it clenching.

Rangers fans are REALLY pissed with Hayes:
Quote:
You see Kevin the Rangers-Islander rivalry is kind of a big deal to Blueshirt fans. So when you make terrible plays that cost the New York Rangers and their fans the game, they might be upset.
Let me rephrase. When you give the other team the puck not once but twice in a given play and the direct result is a goal, Rangers fans will be REALLY upset.
And how do you follow up that play Kevin Hayes? By slapping your stick on the ice like a petulant child.
We’re not making this up Kevin. Your own head coach called you out for the lack of effort.

I think it's safe to consider this trade a done-deal

Yeah, Hiller deserves the start for sure.
And the Flames need him to get going - they can't play one goalie for the final 41 games of the season.
And Ramo appears to need a break.

Trade done based on what? A Rangers basement blogger and Hudler practising with a green jersey?

He wouldn't have been at practice, let alone wearing a green jersey, if he was traded. It's obviously due to his recent injury troubles.

Wishful thinking?
No Contact jersey could just as easily come from Treliving having a deal with Hudler close to complete.

If we assume this is a 1A and 1B situation (2014-15), then yes he deserves the start.
But when you consider he could have been in against Florida without equipment and got the win and that Ramo is the number one now the only reason I go back to Hiller is if Ramo needs more rest.
5 game trip and the Flames in a dog fight you can't afford a spotty goaltending performance to cost you a game against the league's 28th best team. Lose that one and suddenly you need to win 3 of 4 with the last stop in Dallas and the Hurricanes playing well.
