Yes, but I doubt he would have helped that much in that period. The entire team was sloppy.

Looking forward to the Around the League report after the game. Both of the Panthers fans online won't be happy.

How come Bennett didn't get the assist on the second goal. I dont think Huberdeau ever had full control.

Were there no assists on the Johnny goal? Because Huberdeau touched it after the first shot? Thats now how you increase point totals NHL...

Hmmm did a quick google search. There are 2 definitions of a natural hatrick.
1) 3 uninterrupted goals by a single player (more common)
2) 3goals in one period by the same player.

Monahan should get one. He made a nice pass to Gaudreau to send him in.

I was wondering the same thing, it was pretty close. Wonder if they still might change it.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Joe Nieuwendyk has the #Flames team record for most goals in a period at 4 (January 11th, 1989). Not bad for Bennett, I guess.

Well, safe to say Hartley and the management really got the team right up for this game. It's going to be like this throughout the 2nd half of the season. Flat, lifeless and poor hockey one game, looking like Stanley Cup Champs in another.
Chuffed for Bennett. Got a bit fortunate on the 2nd, but his 1st and 3rd were things of beauty. Quick wrister and a nifty backhand. But all in all, what a period for the Flames. They came out flying and made the most of the Panthers play.
As for the Panthers, what a disgraceful period of hockey that was. Made even the Oilers defending look reasonable. Shameful effort by them, especially considering where their head coach is currently. Yeah, I know they are tired, a bit beat up and have lost their most important defender(maybe their most important player), but that was just terrible from their perspective. That being said, if they could play like that in the 2nd and 3rd periods please, I'd be most obliged.

At the game tonight and that was an amazing period to watch.
It was only a matter of time for Bennett. He's been playing so well and just hasn't got the results. Tonight though, he's finally being rewarded.
My hat hit Montoya in the back...

If Monahan is getting one then Ferland should get his for the zone entry pass too. But it looks like both passes get nullified because Huberdeau blocked that shot with his stick before Gaudreau potted the rebound.

Don't think I've ever heard that before. I just assumed it was 3 in a row, and that's it.

Seems to be a common happenstance that the Flames dominate when I'm on the road. The 11 game home streak started the day after I landed in regina and was snapped the minute I got back and I don't think they won a game the few times I was home since. Now back on the road to edmonton and Bennett goes beast mode. 😭 at least I got to read about it live! 😔
