Doesn't it make you feel old that we have more people from that magical '04 team in our coaching/management than are even left playing in the NHL?

Had a chance to meet him and Frickin' Tyler Moss! during the Stampede last year where I was bartending. I liked him before but i liked him even more after my encounter with him. He handed and let me wear his Stanley Cup ring and him and Tyler Moss had huge grins on their faces when I suggested that Alex Hemsky was probably the happiest player when he announced his retirement after winning the cup!

I can get behind the idea of Reggie being a FOF inductee. He was as much a lynch pin in any success the Flames had in the Iggy era as anyone else. Just glad he got his Stanley cup.

Credit to hemsky for continually going into the corners against Regehr knowing he was about to become one with the boards.

Notice that he stopped once he was no longer an Oiler.

I loved that Regehr always let players have the puck in the corners.

"You want the puck in the corner. Sure. Go for it. Theres nothing you can do with it there and I'm going to punish you severely."

I also always loved Oiler fans crowing about the one time Hemsky got the better of Regehr. He got his got his ass handed to him countless times but the one time Hemsky got around him and scored was the greatest moment in Oiler history.

Hemsky might have been a 600g 1300pt hall of famer if it went for Reggie! 😂😂😂

Too bad he didn't retire two games earlier....Jiri Hudler would likely still be a top 10 scorer in the NHL.

Regehr was one of my favourite Flames ever behind Theo Fleury and close to Iginla.

He was one of the main reasons I loved watching even though we sucked. The way he played the game hard every night was amazing. Played the right way and not dirty. His "battles" with Hemsky was legendary.

Really wish someone could make a compilation of the tunnel of death just on Hemsky.

Short interview with CBC today. Says main reason for retirement is his knees. Chose to come back to Calgary because of family and network of friends:

Pretty decent numbers. How much money does a guy like Richie Regehr make over there?

I read somewhere that top end DEL players can make upwards of 200 000 Euros per year in Germany, but that info might be a few years old.
