From my vantage point tonight. Love the height difference between Cvik and the one ref!

Not really considering the number of issues with the team
1. Brodie injured.
2. Terrible goalie trio experiment
3. Gio coming off an injury
4. completely shaken up d lines
5. several new players
6. high expectations
7. Bouma injured
there was a lot going against them right off the bat. Once those things kind of all faded things quickly started to change

With Ramo, this happened after the GM essentially said: "we are OK if another team claims you off waivers for nothing". Funny how things turn out sometimes, eh?

Games 21-Games 41 gives a good indication of how good the team is.....anyone have the flames record over that span?
EDIT:
They are 13-6-1 in the last 20 games. Maintaining this pace gives them about 97 points.

"If"?
I do believe the word you are searching for is WHEN.

You mean Johnny Hockey, the NHL's #1 star for the month of December, isn't' on his game?

Gio had a great game tonight. Unquestionably one of his best of the year. TJ Brodie was better. I'll be disappointed if #7 is not an All-Star. I'll be baffled if he's not on Team Canada.
I really wonder how much alcohol impacted Ferland's development as a teenager. That kid has so much talent, it seems like every game he's figuring out a little more.
Bennett and Granlund were very good. Bennett's game down low has so much Crosby in it. Granlund had a couple dangerous chances - he should have one timed his look in the 3rd period.
Ramo has been very good lately. Do it again. He's starting to look like an NHL starter. Don't drop the ball. At this point, our playoff fate is entirely dependent on the health of #31, so if he gets us there I'm fine with a 2 year extension.
When he gets healthy, I want to see Frolik with Monahan and Gaudreau. They need someone to go get the puck for them.
Speaking of Monahan, he had his best game in a while. Shooting from everywhere, heavy shots, deceptive release. The team needs more of that from him.
I also saw a little glimpse of what Money will be when his zkating rounds into form. There's a more power in his stride to find, and he's on the verge of being almost impossible to handle one on one.
Great game all round. They ran Tampa's show for 56 minutes. Can't ask for much more.

I remember reading something about how he got into the game later than most kids. He has the skill but what held him back for a while was learning the finer aspects of the game. You're definitely right, he seems to be figuring it out more and more as he plays

I know what you meant, but I don't like this insinuation. Power forwards develop slowly, and Ferland came late to the game.

That's because PPs are shorter when opponents score.

Hamilton had around 2 minutes less than Wideman, and 6 minutes less than Russell this is my only complaint.

I'm always surprised how fast Ferland is. He's got pretty good mitts too, and a REAL heavy shot. If he can play with some consistency he could be our poor-man's Lucic. The guy is a wrecking ball once he gets going!

I agree with Francis that they should try Bennett on the top line for a few games to see what happens. The last time it happened I don't think it lasted a whole game. Bennett is close to breaking out and Monahan/Gaudreau are also in a mini slump. Worth a shot
