It's like how the other team always scores whenever I tune into the game late

Kings are the best team in the NHL right now...Flames had some chances but didn't bury them...no need to get all bent outta shape here Calgary is just not a top team yet

Yes, he can handle himself but he's almost a lightweight compared to Lucic. We need the big ern back to beat this guy.

I snuck away from the party and tuned in on Sirius...LA scored their first within 30 seconds.

1 point in his last 8 games. Hell, he has 2 SHOTS in his last 8 games. 4 million/year for that? Unbelievable that he once scored over 20 goals in a season. I always thought the main thing with him is that he's always injured. But even healthy, he does nothing. He always says when he's not moving his feet he's useless. Well he's pretty useless right now and definitely deserves some criticism. I'd like to see him shipped out before the deadline. I can't believe some people wanted to re-sign him when his contract is done because he fluky led the team in goals at one point early in the season.
A ton of the vets are letting this team down. Hudler. Wideman. Russell. Jones. The list goes on. Now the the core is in place and still young, it's time for Treliving to figure out a way to ship off the anchors. Easier said then done, but that's what needs to happen.

Jones looked way better during his time on the top line than Hudler has. Jones is being given defensive duties, and brings other elements to his game. Hudler is being gift wrapped time with potentially the best offensive player in the NHL right now and is dragging him down tremendously. Don't get me wrong Jones isn't living up to 4 mill salary, but Hudler isn't worth 10 grand salary right now.

No way. Washington is way better.
You guys seriously need to start watching some of the Eastern teams. The Caps are physical as hell too.
And as for Jones, he's a notoriously streaky player. Just on a cold streak at the moment. Plus, I think his foot is still bothering him. Hasn't been the same since he blocked that shot.

I agree, plus Jones was very good right up until he hurt his foot. Maybe it's worse than reported and he's playing thru it.

I never thought Jones looked great on the top line. He was never the first to loose pucks, Johnny/Monny rarely found him, and rarely useful for carry-ins.
I still contend that for whatever reason, Jooris has consistently been Johnny's best linemate this year.

Was at the game last night, and the second goal was due to Jones making a fancy pass in the offensive zone creating a turnover. Jones should have made the shot. The team is looking to make the best pass every time, and no one is going to the front of the net. LA was keeping all our forwards in the perimeter.
Hudler hardly made one good pass all night. I would play Jooris over him. At least Jooris can skate straight. In summary all our forwards except Johnny/Mony/Bennett are not playing up to the potential. Badland has some flashes, but cannot make any impact.
Hartley has lots of work in front of him.

Jones is what he is. He had a good start to the season but he's really just a bottom 6 guy on a bad contract which fortunately for the Flames is set to expire. With Hudler and Jones off the books that frees up $8 million for the team to spend more wisely.
With the division so horrible I kind of feel the joke just may be on the two teams that finish 2nd and 3rd as they will suffer brief first round exits while the players just below them will be picking at or near top 5 in the draft. It's kind of becoming clear that while the playoffs would be nice this team really could badly use one of those right wingers and a high 2nd round draft choice to fill more gaps which have become glaring this season.

This. The Flames played well, but were simply beat by a better team. The only thing that pisses me off about our effort last night is that that same effort beats Anaheim easily.

No shame in losing to a team like that. But just goes to show the flames have a long way to go.

Makes one wonder how they played so badly last year.

This is the boldest prediction I have seen in some time. You're saying that when the 2nd and 3rd-place teams in the Pacific play each other in the first round, they're both going to lose? Pretty neat trick.

First bold prediction of 2016. One team is guaranteed to lose in the first round and the other in the 2nd round. Getting to the 2nd round was great and all last year but a year later it's not like it's aided the rebuild any further. Making the playoffs is great and all but I'm kind of the opinion that teams that continue to be playoff pretenders never go any further and a step back is better than just making the playoffs to lose to the real contenders.
