Third jersey has really grown on me, especially after I bought one. They're a lot nicer than I gave them credit for. Still not a huge fan of the logo, but I don't mind it. The rest of the jersey is great though.

Was at the game, great night... Is it too late to ask Santa for a new Flames hat?

May have been mentioned but shout out Ramo who was .950 tonight. He has been what the flames need in net for a while now.

Where did you get your list? Sportsnet says Kent Nilsson has the Flames record (100 points in 85 games).

I really like Ramo's compete level and his game

I really dislike sv% being quoted for a single game.

Haha, you may dislike it but it here it is again .950 tonight.

Edit: Also how is sv% any different than the dozen other single game stats brought up on a pgt?

God I love Gaudreau. What a player.

Winnipeg is missing a true game breaker like him. They don't have a terrible team but they have no elite forwards. Ehlers and Scheiffieirflelefifle are good players but they're not legitimate superstars. Johnny Gaudreau is, and he's awesome.

Really liked Ferland's game tonight. Thought he played fantastic. Forced lots of turnovers and one of them resulted in a goal.

Also liked the play of Monahan and Ramo tonight. Did their jobs.

TJ Brodie should be in the Norris discussion, and I think he will be in the years to come. He's fantastic.

Dougie Hamilton was awesome tonight. Really engaged physically and made smart plays. The Dougie we traded for in July has arrived, and he is awesome.

Thought Bouma did a good job trying to engage himself in the play and threw a few good hits but you could tell he was rusty. Thought that his line struggled, but I'll give him a pass. Glad he's back, our PK needs it.

Always fun winning right before Christmas. Snapchatted the hats raining down after Gaudreau's hat trick to all my Jets fans friends who were being cocky before the game and sending me "Flames suck" texts. Those who kept their mouths shut were spared the salt to their wounds.

Nillson is the fastest in Franchise (Atlanta + Calgary) history, Nieuwendyk is the fastest in Calgary Flames history

Bonus: Darren Haynes put up an article today on Gaudreau's start in historic terms comparing it to the 80's specifically 87 when Nieuwendyk hit 100 and heres what he came up with:

(Name, Games to hit 100 points)

Johnny Gaudreau, 66 (99 points)
1. Sergei Makarov, 83
2. Joe Nieuwendyk, 87
3. Sean Monahan, 90
4. Ed Beers, 93
5. Jarome Iginla, 95

Great read if you're interested: http://www.flamesfrom80feet.ca/2015/...-adjusted.html

Simple. Consider the shaft of Brodie's stick, which is the difference between .900 and .950.

Sv% is not valuable for a single game and considering the impact of team D, in my opinion arguably a stat most useful for people who don't watch the game.

Or let's say it is better as the starting point for an analysis but certainly not the end point, especially for a significantly insignificant sample size such as the shot total from 1 game

That simple eh?

Also just for the record that was a D saving a goal that the D would have caused, causing that rush off the pinch. Good thing i watched the game eh?

Disagree, to me Blake Wheeler is elite and Little is very underrated.

Just for the record that was a general observation not a personal shot.

But yes, it is that simple. Sv% is significant over a large sample size and even then is a starting point for discussion about team D, which then can be qualified by specific instances.

I do subscribe to the notion that for every 10 shots, 9 should be expected to be stopped. There is a limit to the statistical significance of the stat due to individual events at the game level.

Point of the thread though is that Johnny is awesome. And Ramo is good

Carry on
