Awesome. Good for Hickey and Mason.

What are the chances Flames sign Hickey after this year?

Too many bodies right now in the organization I think. Better if we let him develop one more year in the NCAA

Can't remember the last time Calgary had two guys make this team. Good for them!

Hickey is in with some good company. Wonder where he would go in a redraft. No doubt he has raised his stock a good margin.

I thought Hickey looked great the last two games, some fantastic tape to tape breakout passing for quick counter attacks

It's rare enough for one Flames pick to make it.

It looks like 2002 (Kobasew and Stoll) was the last time two players drafted by the Flames were on Team Canada (and, of course, Stoll never signed with the Flames and re-entered the Draft that summer).

The last time any team had more than one Flames pick on it was the 2013 Team USA, with Gaudreau, Gillies, and Sieloff. They won gold, and Johnny Hockey played Johnny hockey.

Current swedish coach loves his grinders. He is really bad.

The good news is that this is his last WJC tournament. The bad news is that he moves up as coach for the mens national team

He was named the biggest riser in the off-season by one analyst. (THN I think, Ryan Kennedy maybe)

How long until fans are worried he won't sign or will we be spared because he's from Alberta?

It's not even a possibility until August 2018. If he goes back to play his senior year in the fall of 2017, it might be something to think about.

I'll be surprised if he isn't signed before that.

Flames are looking pretty good on the blue line down the road. Hickey and Ollas Mattsson playing in this tournament and then having Andersson and Kylington sitting out on the sidelines for the Swedes, both of which could have or should have been there. Pretty good position to be in.

OT, but I haven't heard much about Rafikov lately.

I think they want to see him play a season as the #1 guy ahead of Grylzeck (sp?). Hia offensive game has room to grow - the shot is there and the puck-skills while raw will probably get there. But Hickey needs to master the art of Power Play QB.

He is getting bounced around in the KHL.

First Yaroslav was rarely playing him averaging 7:44 TOI in 7 games.

He got demoted to the VHL (Russia's version of the AHL). Then he got demoted to the MHL (Russia's version of the OHL/WHL).

Then he got traded for cash to Vladivostok. Where he was averaging 16:39 minutes per game for 17 KHL games.

Then he got traded back to Yaroslav. KHL has been on break since that trade.

Doesn't sound like an ideal development environment at all.

Swedish D yielded 3 goals in 45 sec today. It is amazing how our dumb coach left the flames dmen at home
