Default Comeback falls short. Flames lose 3-2 to the Blues.

The thing about our PP is Hudler and Wideman not playing like how they would last year. huge gaps to fill

Well it's not like they were going to go 50-0 the rest of the year. Outside the first period, game could've gone either way, and almost another 3 period comeback. Can't fault Ramo at all today but being back to back, does Hiller start tomorrow? Hopefully he can find some of his mojo from last year.

Puck was dying on Hudler's stick all night. He's much better than he has been playing this year and kind of wonder if he is playing hurt. If not he really needs to step up his game.

Also glad Ferland and Granlund got a few seconds on the the PP. More of that please.

I think that given the workload today, Hartley has to be thinking about starting Ramo tomorrow.

You can for the last goal but overall his team letting him down the first five minutes is what set the tone.

If it were me I'd probably give Hiller a shot tomorrow. He has to play again sometime and he is better than what he's shown.

Flames played hard all game and probably deserved to win. If one of those 3 posts goes in, we're probably walking away with at least a point.

Set it and forget it, and gear up for the Wings tomorrow.

I'd start Ramo again. Not many shots against today, and he didn't lose them the game.

Plus, Hiller scares the bejeesus out of me when he plays.

Hudler keeps looking to pass, he got a pass from Bennett in the slot and tried to feather a pass to Granlund instead of just taking the shot

Everyone's blaming the powerplay for this loss but I actually thought the powerplay was much improved. The bounces didn't go our way, and that's why the Flames lost.
These were the shots attempted on our powerplay today.

We had 4 shots inside the home plate, and zero inside the faceoff circles which is where a lot of dangerous PPs actually score from (including ours last year when Wideman was scoring goals)

I Just don't think that's good enough. Deflection goals are nice but they can't be the only objective when you outnumber the opponent 5 to 4.

They made it close but I was disappointed in the lack of effort and the lack of urgency in the last minute or minute and a half. The game was on the line, goalie out and I thought everyone looked very lackadaisical. Time for a final pull out all the stops and go for it, and they were just passing around seemingly lazily.

I'd love an explanation of why Raymond and "big joe shoots it at the goalies chest" are on the first unit power play.

Gio is getting better out there, but I have found he gets lost out there sometimes and misses coverage. On that 3rd goal he was standing in no man's land. I've noticed that this year.

Coaching staff is blaming Gaudreau/Monahan/Bennett/Hudler for the incredibly poor PP strategy not working?

Our PP units should look like:

1st PP Unit:

Bennett - Monahan - Gaudreau
Hamilton - Giordano

2nd PP Unit:

Ferland - Granlund - Hudler
Wideman - Brodie

Biggest problem our Power Play has? No one timer. No one on our team posses a one timer worth noting. It's shocking.

It's time to bring back the Dion.

...haha. We need an accurate one timer. Iginla would be the better rerun to address this need.

Why? Do we need dents in the boards behind the net on either side at the Dome?

What would you have done? Every defenceman gets beat from time to time. This does also happen when the D gets no support from others.

Pretty solid effort all around. Key is to play like this again and win the next one.

Personally Im most disappointed by Gio and Hudler. Come on guys.

It wasn't a two on one, someone was almost at the passer. If Gio had gone towards the goal scorer instead of staying in the middle he would have had a better chance to break up that play.

And that's happened a lot this year. Yes, defensemen get caught sometimes, but I've noticed it a lot this season. Actually noticed it a lot with Wideman and Hamilton too.
