Most goalies (and most players) don't.

However, McDonald has a couple things going for him:

1) size - in today's NHL, its all but mandatory
2) pedigree - he has been representing Canada for a while now

In other words, he isn't some kid that had a hot year and got a bit of attention. He has been the cream of his age-group for a long time.

No guarantees obviously, but I am happy to wait and see how he develops.

I think if it's McKenzies choice Hickey is a lock by now. Guy has nothing but praise for him always.

The biggest difference is their compete level. Johnny plays at 100% every shift. Marner takes shifts off all the time.

Point hurt, looks like it could be his shoulder again. If he's out for an extended amount of time that's a pretty huge loss.

^ Don't care how accurate the comparison is. Just cool that blue chip prospects are getting compared to Gaudreau.

He's going to bust. I don't think he should even make this team. He's been the worst forward. Only thing he brings is size.

Pretty good shot, but he can't be counted on to get the puck into a place to make that shot himself. Has to be set up
