It's been like that for the past two major releases now.

For the vast majority of users, the volume icon means "the volume of the main/current playback device".
If I click the volume icon, it's because I want to change the volume for the playback device that I am hearing. If I want to futz around with a goddamn volume mixer for every application and playback device, I'll right-click or tap-and-hold and open the actual mixer.
This is how it is on every phone, every Windows PC after Windows 7, and every Mac. First foray into the volume settings is the main audio playback device, and users who want to can expand it to control other applications or playback devices.

That's the thing. I want my PC to work like a PC, not like a phone or a Mac.
Windows 10 is ugly and unstable. I rolled back to 7.

Agree to disagree, I suppose. Windows 10 has been great for me. No issues at all.

I agree that windows 10 is a much uglier version of 7. It runs fine and likely faster with my fancy new PC... But holy god. It's so god damn ugly. Can someone from apple defect to Ms and teach them some design ffs?

Curious what people find so ugly about it, particularly in comparison to Windows 7...

I actually think Windows 10 is very nice, it looks better and works better than Windows 7. I quite like it. Microsoft Edge is a surprisingly good browser too.

I guess people like Aero more than the flat look of Windows 10? Personally I feel like Windows 10 is a snappier and cleaner looking version and have no issues with it. I use Windows 7 at work and Windows 10 at home so I'm seeing the differences all the time, too.

Just got a new computer with Windows 10.
Ever since, my time/date setting keep changing on its own.
I've tried changing the settings to make it automatically sync the time, and manually, but it still will go ahead a few days. (Right now, it shows Dec 10th)
I change it manually, then it eventually changes on its own again.
Anyone experienced this and/or know how to fix it?

Yup. You are going to need to get yourself a few plane tickets, then fly around the world, EASTWARD until you cross the date line twice. Then you should be good. Don't forget to bring your new computer.
Have you checked the BIOS/UEFI time setting?

Has anyone noticed their copy of Windows 10 seemingly "stuck"? I have it happening on my system as well as a laptop in the house. Seems to happen from what I can tell, when Windows updates are happening in the background. Clicking here or there seems to do nothing. Can't even bring up the Task Manager until it is done "thinking" or doing whatever else it is doing. This was never an issue on 7 and I never had the computer so locked I couldn't bring up Task Manager on 7.

From earlier in the thread, try this:
open an admin command prompt and run bcdedit
see if you have "onecpu true"
If you don't see it listed, it is not enabled. If you do see that line, enter this:
bcdedit /set onecpu false
and you probably need to reboot

Sorry, haven't read the whole thread. So what if I don't see it listed?

Also consider going into windows updates -> Advanced options -> Choose how updates are delivered and uncheck the "get updates from and send updates to PCs on the internet" option (P2P updates)
I also went to privacy and disabled everything on that first page about tracking my information and giving me ads as well as disabling Cortana. I found my computers/laptops without SSD more stable with that done (Too many processes in the background).
