Some one has been buying into the propaganda put out by "Big Nutrition". Do you ever wonder why food that is apparently "good for you" also happens to be very expensive?

Skittles are the real superfood. Not Kale or Kanye or whatever it's called.

A pro athlete probably burns more than enough calories in a day to eat candy and grilled cheese for every meal without showing any weight gain. But... That physical activity might not save you from a full blown case of the 'beetus.

I'm pretty sure his diet isn't just skittles/candy and grilled cheeses. He probably likes to indulge in some candy when watching a movie, or pound back a grilled cheese every so often. I don't think it's a big deal. I'm guessing the Flames trainer has him eating healthy for his actual meals.

If those old episodes of 24/7 have taught me anything it's that the team puts out a pretty good spread at the arena for games and practices. Those guys probably eat good 90% of the time and crush some Skittles in between team-supplied meals.

From the research I have done on NHL players and their diets etc this is the following I have come up with.

1) Nutrition is super important and the teams have spent a lot of time and money organizing meals for their players at practice, lunch and usually after game dinners as well. The menu's are prepared in advance for road games, flights etc

2) Although the teams would prefer that all players treat their eating habits as serious as possible, the stuff we are witnessing here such as the candy, pop, processed cheese slices are usually what we consider the "cheat meals"

As a few of the other posters said its the dietary and fitness stuff that usually plays a role into a how well a player ages in the NHL or sports for that matter. We usually see the separation between players whose dedication to fitness, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle occur in their early 30's. You just can't get away with certain things anymore considering the talent in the NHL and the potential money involved as well.

Good video clip though. I really wish the Flames did a better job of this type of "behind the scenes" stuff. As a fan I love seeing the stuff going on in the plane, the hotels, restaurants, training etc. I hate saying this but a few of the youtube clips I have seen of the Canucks are pretty cool from a fan perspective. They are a similar type of market type team as Calgary in a lot ways. Not trying to compare the media budgets of teams like NY, Philly, Toronto and Montreal etc.

Skittles are like $4 a bag. Kale is $3 so yeah, the opposite of what you said or whatever.

You may want to consider buying your skittles from a different store.

Here's what bugged me about the video. They show him playing NHL 16(?) may have been 15. Anyway, Gaudreau in his game looks like Gaudreau. They showed him on the bench. When I play the game, Gaudreau looks like Mike Ribeiro. Weird.

They should have done a better job at disguising the location. Recognized the street immediately fro their living room window. Quick look on google street view and I now know their exact address. Won't say where it is other than NW.

He picked the flames as his favorite team that's why Gaudreau is on the HUT menu. Mine looks the same. I think I may have his gamer tag figured out.
