Washington is very happy to announce the acquisition of Jeff Carter and Paul Stastny in exchange for Jakub Voracek and Riley Sheahan.
Our need for a 1C, who can provide a scoring boost, has been no secret. Washington ranks dead last in the CPHL, with just 27 goals for in 13 games. Losing a marquee player of Voraceks' calibre was tough, but a necessary evil. Having him play beside a 68OV center had proved fruitless, not matter what the combination. GM JonDuke knew he needed to makes changes, and fast, if anything was to be saved of this season.
In return, Capitals welcome Jeff Carter, who is an instant, much needed upgrade at C. Stasty will play wing for now, until we can juggle him and his 99 FO rating to 2C, where he belongs. We're excited to bring in two top 6 forwards to help inject some scoring power to the line up. Washington has only played 13 games thus far in the season and we're confident this will make an exciting difference to the team's direction.

Not wanting anyone to be overshadowed by the bigger names, we're also
very excited to add a talented youth piece as well. 2013's 29th overall pick, Jason Dickinson, joins fellow Texas Stars teammate Devin Shore in the Washington prospect cupboards, and we're very excited about his future development potential within the Capitals organization.
Management had been in talks with numerous teams, and ultimately came back to Dallas because of our interest in Carter. A few tweaks here and there, and the deal was done. Huge thanks to TurdFerguson for the chats, and for having the the patience to listen to my crazy demands and still nail this one out.
Washington isn't done there though. We know we're not in cup contention territory, but GM JonDuke has been in touch with two other GMs today alone, involving other pieces we're ready to move in order to become an increasingly improved team compared to where we finished last year.
In other news:
Look for Voracek to score a hat trick in his final game in a Caps jersey, and to also go on to regain his powerful point production for the Flyers.
Also...Carter scores 2 goals in his final game with Dallas. Keep them coming Jeffrey! Andrew Ladd is stoked to have someone who can handle his passes!
And yes, I hope the title trolls as many non CPHL folk as possible.
