Without the concussion the deal still may look bad but a 70+ point Eriksson makes the deal look much better than what he has become after the injury.
Ya well Eriksson got a concussion so it was robbery.

Just no to Marleau for the love of god.
Fine. Pavelski for Raymond, toss in Deblouw/Harrison...or both.

Here's list of scouts.

@KKurzCSN: Who could be pursuing Patrick Marleau? For what it’s worth, scouts here tonight from Tampa, Winnipeg, NYR, Calgary, Edmonton and C-Bus

Maybe marleau was part of the Hiller trade talks this summer and turned down initially but is changing his tune?

Garrioch "rumors":
http://www.ottawasun.com/2015/11/07/...ot-in-colorado

a lot of it is regurgitation and well duh

Sakic and Roy overrated their blueline and it is a big issue for the Avs and are looking for help on defence

Treliving trying to gauge the market for Wideman and Russell
Flames would like to move Wideman's $5.25 million because they have to re-sign Monahan and Gaudreau to significant raises
Russell will command $4 to $4.5 million on the open market

Lamoriello willing to discuss any player on his roster except for Morgan Rielly

New Jersey checking around to see if market on Eric Gelinas

Couple of teams talking to Carolnia about Cam Ward.

Flyers trying to clear cap space, but no luck.

Chicago, Buffalo, Columbus, Colorado, St. Louis, Boston, and Anaheim all have been sniffing around for help on defense

Ok then.

Looking at deals where a guy is injured after the trade seems like a pretty useless way to evaluate them but I guess you think it has some sort of value then go ahead.

Flames totally won the Marc Savard trade.

As Lyle Richardson (spectors hockey) mentioned, St. Louis is rumoured to be shopping and for help up front so can't see them in the mix. Ditto for Anaheim who needs scoring/help up front and are well stocked on d.

Is the metric of Seguin leading the entire league better for you? Or should we go based on imaginary stats that didn't happen? Eriksson looks like he won't be around in Boston in a years time anyways so lets say he did have a few good years there. Was that any real benefit to them? Stars got a young superstar to build around for years to come. Their the best team in the West right now. Eriksson hurt or not the trade was still a massive win for Dallas.

I said that the deal with a healthy Eriksson is still a win for Dallas so I guess it is a good enough metric.

You said that we should do a similar steal of a deal to get Strome and I was pointing out that at the time of the deal it wasn't that big of a steal and ended up that way because of an injury.

So I guess if your point is we should trade a valuable piece to get Strome and then have him get a concussion then awesome but if not then comparing the Seguin deal to trading for Strome would have us moving a very valuable piece like Eriksson was after coming off 3 70+ point seasons and being a very good defensive player.

I am guessing the Flames actually have 4 Dmen that could be had. Russell, Wideman, Engellend, and Smid. I wonder if there would ever be internet in Smid or Engellend?

I don't think Engelland can be had. I believe he's a Coaches favorite and one of the GM's favorites too. The other three, yup.

Out of curiosity if you could trade one of Smid or Engellend who would you like to move?

Seeing as how Engelland is steady right now I'd unload the larger contract in Smid.

Well of the 7 guys we have 3 right shots, 4 left. Brodie prefers to play the right side though. Honestly Smid has the bigger contract so probably him
