Rinne. Yes. Elite goaltender.
Dubnyk. Probably. Has still been pretty good this year after an excellent year last year.
Crawford. Probably, but has traditionally been behind a good defensive team. His numbers this year are still pretty good.

Elliot/Allen are probably only slightly better than Pavelec/Hutchinson. Both Blues' goalies have been prone to meltdowns before, especially in the playoffs. Blues are by far the best defensive team though, so their numbers are inflated by Hitchcock's system.

I think it's very debatable that Niemi/Lehtonen are better than Pavelec/Hutchinson. Both goalies have been prone to really poor games/stretches, just as Pavelec/Hutchinson have.

So far, Pavelec and Hutchinson have been very solid, and they still have the wildcard of Hellebuyck who will probably take over the net at some point, maybe even this year if either veteran falters.

In 2-3 years I think the Jets will be poised to win the division but as of this year I am not sold. I think the other teams in the list are better positioned to make the playoffs

I voted Jets.

51% because I thought they were the worst of the teams listed.

49% to see the overreaction by the Jets fans on here and their constant "tell us how awesome the Jets are" threads.

I picked the Stars. They always seem to fizzle out towards season's end.

I expect Dubnyk to return to his career norms as a below average goaltender...

Yea, being 3 points off the division lead DEFINITELY means they're not. There's absolutely no scenario where a better team could be a few points behind in the standings.

His save percentage isn't good, but his GAA is decent and he's getting wins, which is the most important thing.

Voted Hawks.

Obviously a tough call and a tight race.

It think the Blues, Stars and Wild are in. Between the Jets, Preds and Hawks, I think it comes down to injuries and who goes on a losing skid that they can't recover from.

With Rinne in net, the Preds seem like the least likely of the three to trip up.

So, Jets or Hawks.

It's not so much that the Jets are bad but their division. They still seem to be a marginal playoff team, the 7-8th seed kind of team. I think they are just a tad below the rest of those teams in most categories. To get ahead they would need stellar goaltending. A team with Little as its #1C isn't winning a division otherwise. If they were in our div though they would have a divisional playoff spot and 100 points easy. But good luck getting to three digits playing against the Blues and Wild all season.

Sure, but by your logic and exact measurement they are actually closer to being the 2nd WORST team in the division.

And yet, the idea of them missing the playoffs is "crazy".

I enjoy how one Jet poster here creates these kinds of threads and yet it paints the entire fanbase with that brush.

Cali...if you view Dubnyk's 2014-15 season with the Wild as an outlier (which I do), you can't expect another 27-9-2 winning pace (his Wild save pct. was .936)...he is currently under .900 (again), and though the team is 7-2-1 for him, that kind of save pct. doesn't inspire confidence that that winning rate can be maintained.

? Seek out? I'm exactly part of the group he's talking about on a specific hockey message board.

^THIS.

When Hellebuyck is brought up to the big league, he will push the Jets over the top. This kid is unreal, and barring any significant injuries, will guide the Jets deep into the playoffs (i.e. Ken Dryden 1971). Hutch and Pavelec are playing well, but it's Hellboy that is going to steal the show.

What's up with the random people thinking their fave College hockey prospect is Ken Dryden in waiting?

Respectfully, his career Save % is .916, which is more than solid when you consider some of those awful Oiler teams he was on. Being below .900 is a bit of an aberration for Dubnyk, but yes, so was his .936 last year. His 2.59 GAA is below his career mark of 2.68, but that number is highly inflated due to him playing on really, really bad defensive teams in Edmonton.

I would expect somewhere around .915 to .920 Save % this season, and having a GAA around 2.60 would be pretty solid. I really don't expect Dubnyk to completely fall off the map this year, but he was never as good as his numbers last year.

It's just Jets fans. Every Jets prospect is a superstar, confirmed.

You forgot to add 2014-15 AHL MVP Candidate, and 2015 IIHF Worlds Top Goaltender (chosen by the media). Maybe I exaggerate slightly, but there is no doubt in my mind, that Helle is the real deal.
