Lol because that's what I said? I said Bollig needs to contribute more, no idea how you got that he was the only thing wrong with the team.

But yeah you're right If Bollig was only sat out this team would be undefeated!11

Is it any wonder this team can't get secondary scoring when these guys have taken turns in the top six?
So if we had another top 6 forward we'd be 7-2? Oh wait you didn't say that.

we need another 2 top 6 forwards or 1 and Bennett to get it going but 2 to be safe. Needless to say, we have no way of doing that.

This team needs more than 1 top 6 forward.

They need an entire 2nd line.

It's pretty silly to single out a 4th line player when the team as a whole is playing poorly. Bollig is the least of the Flames worries right now.

As a neutral fan I gotta say if this was an Oilers board you guys would be ripping into some of these comments pretty hard.

Backlund contributes 10 times the amount Bollig does but you think he's terrible.

Can we send Bennett down for practice in the AHL? Frankly I feel better with Granlund up at this point.

It's a little different though.

We laugh at Oilers fans because they're so delusional. Crappy team will be crappy.

Flames fans actually had reasonable expectations this year, although they've almost completely gone up in smoke now.

What? Bennett may have been the best forward tonight.

And no, it's NHL or OHL for him.

Last season, if you discount the 8-game losing streak, we went 45-23-6 for 96 of a possible 148 points, or a .648 pace.

With 4 points after 9 games, we need 93 of the remaining 146 points to get back to 97 and have a shot at squeaking into the playoffs again. That's a .636 pace, just slightly less than what we played at for most of last year.

It's not absolutely as grim as I thought it would be at this point with the record that we have, but we need to reel off at least four wins in a row, or like six-of-eight. I felt that we needed to be 4-6 after 10 games to have a shot at the playoffs and I think we're boned, but I'll give us until game 15 before I decide if I'm climbing aboard the Auston Matthews tankwagon for the season.

If we've got 6 or more wins by game 15, I'll be hoping for a phenomenal run and a gutsy come-from-behind playoff berth.

5 or fewer by game 15 and all you'll hear from me all season is how we should tank.

Well Bollig has 0 points in a fourth line role and Bucklund has 1 point despite getting top 6 minutes. This team has never pinned their hopes on Bollig putting up points but they have with Backlund. I would say Backlund's poor play has hurt the team much more than Bollig's play.

Well so far this season Backlund has contributed a whole 1 more goal than Bollig and I am not so sure he has provided much more than him defensively either.

So unoptimistic that this team can turn it around enough before it's too late. We'll see though....Hope I'm wrong.

You don't like Bollig. That's fine. We get it. You don't need to talk about it anymore, it can just be assumed.

Such as? Sure a few fans are ripping on 4th line players or new additions still finding their way like Hamilton but I don't see too many people calling for heads to roll. Season isn't over but it's probably not going to end up as satisfying as last season. I would expect most fans realized that this team still had some work to do before they become a true cup contender or even annual playoff team. It's more disappointment than it is Oilers kool aid as this team actually performed on the ice last year to raise expectations while Oilers fans have used nothing but the addition of players via the draft lottery to raise their expectations. I suggest you go the the Oilers forum now. It's not much different than this place and like I said they were crap last year unlike the Flames who actually had some expectations placed on their team based on making it to the final 8 last season.
