If Ramo/Hiller was in net, the Flames would already be down by three. Ortio is proving why he's a competent goalie.
Now if the rest of the team could get their head out of their ass, and start showing they know what offense is, then they'll be able to help Ortio out.
Colbourne really needs to start hitting the net. It's getting ridiculous how many chances the Flames don't even put on net. Not sure if it's me but if feels like just another one of those games where it's a matter of time until the opposition scores and the floodgates open especially with the 2nd period upcoming. They don't look nearly as good as they did last night.

Thoughts after one. Colborne needs to get that damn shot down low. JG needs to shoot more, that pass to Hudler on the PP should have been a shot. And finally, Backlund is hot garbage right now. Turnovers galore and killing offensive chances, he has to be better.

The Flames out played the Rangers last night in the second period.
Relax about the offense gentlemen. There was no morning skate this morning and this team is without it's #1 puck-rusher and its best bottom 9 goal scorer. Gotta grind out a low scoring tight-checking win and soon the Flames will frustrate the Isle and open up their game. Both teams are just playing a cautious game, the Flames will capitalize. It's just a mental thing right now.

Oh another thought, once guys start returning from injury keep Grant and ditch Bollig. Grant plays hard and plays a decent game, Bollig adds absolutely nothing.

Territorially they did but the Rangers made good on their chances and it was another 2nd period this team got outscored. Too many forwards are ice cold right now.

The frustrating thing is that it is clear Bollig cares. He hustles and works all game long, and from what I understand he learned from his first year in Calgary and really ramped up his preparation for this season.
Whether it's bad luck, a poor situation, or low hockey IQ he just isn't a benefit to this team in his role.
I agree: a guy like Grant or Hathaway in that role might be the best for the Flames at this point.

What the #### does this team do during practise? They have no system for offense. They have no system for defense. They have no powerplay. They have no penalty kill. They cant complete passes or react to tough plays and now they can't even hit the net.
