Milos beat Bautista Agut in three sets, including two tiebreaks, so off to the third round of Shanghai.

Vasek lost to Gasquet in 3 sets 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. Milos also gets Rafa next, big match but Milos should be able to beat Rafa at this stage.
As to Kyrgios, I kind of expected him to get himself suspended before December to avoid getting something that could get him suspended for the Aussie Open. Gonna take the right coach (Lendl?) to get him on track mentally. Wasting a lot of talent though.

Somewhat expected. Be interesting to see where this goes
Quote:
A top female tennis star who was forced to drop out of the U.S. Open after slipping on a wet locker room floor is suing the U.S. Tennis Association and the National Tennis Center for negligence.
Eugenie Bouchard was the No. 25 ranked player in the women's singles bracket before the Sept. 4 mishap.
After winning a mixed-doubles match, Bouchard went to the women's locker room where she took a tumble in the physiotherapy room where players soak in ice baths, according to the suit filed Wednesday in Brooklyn Federal Court.
Bouchard, who is the top ranked female player in Canada, "sustained a severe injury to her head, including, but not limited to a concussion," the suit states.
Since she was injured, Bouchard has been forced to withdraw from several tournaments and her ranking has plunged thirteen spots "and is likely to continue to drop," according to the suit.

I can't add much else other than, good. If nothing else, it will hopefully prevent it from happening again -- to any player.

Rafa beats Milos 6-3, 7-6 (3). Not a good sign for Milos if he can't beat Nadal in his current form, still has a long way to go before he can compete for majors but he's getting to the age where he's running out of time.

not limited to a concussion? what else happened to her in there?
I bet this is going to receive some public backlash from people who think this is just another one of those "sue for any reason" cases over a wet floor, but she really is missing a big, critical chunk of her lucrative career right now. we've seen what concussions do to hockey players on and off the ice, so I'm really hoping she can make a full recovery, if not for tennis, just her life in general.

Just saw that Novak's odds next year of winning the calendar slam are 20/1. Maybe it's me but that seems exceptionally low, I wouldn't have it much lower than 6/1. Certainly think that line gets a lot of action for people think he'll do it.

I think he's only 2 behind Rafa for Masters titles, with a lot of track left to go, he could have a completely unassailable hold as King of ATP 1000 series.
Fed has had varying success with the schedule between USO and ATP finals, and Rafa has generally been awful at it. For Nole to just keep trucking along and curb stomping everyone in sight this late into the season will definitely factor into his GOAT claim one day.

I'm going to predict a massive falling out of form for Novak next year just so I can be the one who said it, should it happen.
29 is old for Tennis.

Vasek moves into the third round of the Valencia Open with a straight sets win. He will likely face David Ferrer in his next match.

I thought for a second I had read the draw wrong, but then I discovered Ferrer pulled out of the Valencia Open with an elbow injury opening up Vasek's part of the draw. Keep it going Vasek.

Vasek lost today in the semifinal versus Sousa 6-4, 6-4. A bummer, but the run will give him confidence, if nothing else.

Small update: Vasek and Jack Sock are a win away from making the ATP Finals. I hope they can get there. It would be a nice way to top of a strong doubles season.
