After I read the last bunch of messages in this thread to my wife she finally broke down and promised she'd at least watch the first season to see if she likes it. She's seen parts before (in the prison I believe) and just said it wasn't for her. She said in the past that despite the gore and scary stuff which she could possibly get past, it was just too grim for her to truly enjoy. I can't really fault her for that.

Started episode 1 tonight, made it through the first 40 minutes. She really struggled with the spooky stuff in the hospital and didn't enjoy seeing Morgan's wife at the door. We stopped it there because she said she needed to watch it in the daytime to not get so spooked. The word "Ew" was muttered a dozen times in the first 30 minutes. I keep telling her that there's more to the show and they're just setting things up for the long haul, but I can tell it's going to be a struggle to keep her watching it. What can I say, she's a delicate flower.

Then, before she goes to bed she says to me, "I honestly don't want to watch the show, but since you want to share it with me so badly I just can't say no. I'm only watching it because I love you so much."

Now I feel guilty.

I expect none of the season 1 cast to be around for season 4 at this rate.

Lol, to all the wives talk. Frik, it was my wife who got me into the show after the 4th season. I powered through all the seasons on Netflix, prior to season 5. Now we're both hooked.

and she does the Talking Dead as well....

I don't do Talking Dead. Breaks the immersion for me. "Annnnd here's that person who just died a brutal death on the show, smiling and happy and talking about their role!"

It's like special features on a Blu-Ray. I only watch it after I've watched the movie a couple times and had a good amount of time to digest it.

Read all the comics after the end of last season. Now I'm actually looking forward to this even MORE, strangely, even though I have an idea of what will (or at least might) happen.

I think season 5 was the best season since season one, so I'm actually looking forward to it starting up again. Hope the spin off is good too.

Surprised your wife didn't like the first episode Cali, I still think that's the best episode they've done. I guess just too grim. See I don't mind the darkness as long as there is good emotion and reason behind it, which episode one did really well. As opposed to several of the episodes where they kill of characters for what seems to amount to just shock value.

But yeah, it's probably not a show for everyone.

After the first 2-3 episodes, if she feels the same then there's no real point in continuing. Tell her you're into all kinds of other things and that you expect her to "share them with you" and see how that goes.

The show isn't for everyone but it seems you either love it or don't like it at all.

That was excellent! I only just got caught up on the rest of last season tonight before the new episode. Mind blown for sure.

So who sounded the horn? People are speculating there's a traitor in Alexandria trying to sabotage it.

Hope Carol comes through to save the day.

It appears the whole point of Fear The Walking Dead was to make the original show look even more awesome by comparison.

Where'd they get helium for the balloons? That must be like the world's most scarce commodity.
