As much as I love the "Bennett didn't want the Oilers to draft him" joke, I think the fact that his shoulder needed surgery probably had more to do with it.

I could see the Flames making a 2-3 piece for 1 type of trade somewhere, just to ship out a few excess bodies.

Who has room for any of these extra players, though?
I'm sure Treliving would love to make it happen, but it takes two teams to make a trade happen.

Arizona does, their lineup is terrible.
They might want to move Boedker or Doan who are UFA's at the end of the year and it might make sense to pull the trigger early, especially if they want Matthews.
Everything depends on who's available and what the ask is.

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled defencemen Kenney Morrison and Patrick Sieloff from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Stockton Heat. The 23-year-old Morrison has played in two pre-season games with Calgary where he has an assist and two PIMs, while 21-year-old Sieloff skated in one pre-season tilt where he was a plus-one with two PIMs.

Welcome to CP, Oiler troll.
I would direct you to post in the "Edmonton is No Good: Now With 150% More No-Goodness" thread so that your trolling does not go unnoticed.
Your misspelled name, just like your post, is No Good.

Here's a question I've always had: How are the cuts decided?
Obviously Treliving and Hartley are in the discussion. Are the AGMs? The assistant coaches? Are pro scouts, player development, and conditioning coaches involved? What about the President?
I'm guessing it's not a democracy and Treliving has veto power. Or is it more consensus?
I guess the way these decisions are made vary from team to team and regime to regime but I'd be interested to know if anyone has any insight.

Lol Bollig is busting Mony's balls over his fear of heights. Picking up right where Big Ern left off.

Pretty much this.
It's always good to have a bunch of knowledgeable people throwing their opinions out there because it will typically get the best possible outcome.

Raymond = this year's Setoguchi
Engelland = this year's O'Brien
Bollig = this year's McGrattan
It's not that they're bad. They're just below average. Why keep below average players on your team? Treveling would do well to recognize this, waive them all, and replace them with guys that can think and play the game at a higher level.
