I'm pretty sure some of you think this girl is some kind of criminal mastermind who somehow lured Kane into sleeping with her in order to get some payout.
I also assume the people who think this don't have a daughter.

The testimony and character of accusers (and plaintiffs and witnesses) are challenged and called into question by lawyers in every criminal case. Aggravated assault, extortion, murder. I'm not downplaying how distressing this is to alleged rape victims. But lets not pretend the courts treat them worse than their counterparts in other crimes. We have an adversarial justice system. It's the job of the defence lawyer to cast doubt on the credibility of the accuser.

Kane is clearly guilty. Who needs something as trivial as evidence?! She's a young girl! She could never lie.

It does matter, you were able to provide a few examples. Are they proof or are they outliers.

Some people are assuming the girl is lying. More are assuming she is telling the truth.

Mr. Miller, founder of Wirtzsucks, a Blackhawk fan site (that clearly had disdain for Dollar Bill!), posted an interesting POV on the Kane incident, more to the point, to the feelings that a settlement with the victim is even being considered:
My wife (and another female friend) are saying that the fact that there's even settlement talks means - to them - that this was a money grab from Day #1.
They both said that no matter how much money is dangled in front of them, if they were raped they would do everything in their power to see the a**hole behind bars (along with a few other, choice, punishments.)
They talked about vulnerabilities, always having to look over your shoulder, trust issues in future relationships, etc.
Obviously I've never been in that situation before but they were pretty passionate about their stance that money would NOT be a consideration.

That's not fair to the victim at all. There lots of reasons a real victim might settle

That's a terrible view. There are sooooo many reasons why a victim might want to settle even if she's telling the truth. They have no insight into the girls situation. Ignorant.

Wait, what? Now you're going too far the other way. It's unfair to paint her as a gold digger and it's equally unfair to say she's telling the truth for sure because that statement suggests Kane is for sure a rapist.
At this point all we have is a potential victim and potential criminal, who hasn't been proven innocent or guilty, or even been charged yet. To suggest she's telling the truth because you have a daughter doesn't mean anything.
This is one of those things were neither accuser or accused should be tarred, and we just wait until there's further news on the case. But that never happens.

I took the "daughter" statement as not meaning Kane is going to be found guilty, but that when you have daughters it's pretty scary out there. You want all things equal, but, the rape drug used in bars and the obvious physical vulnerability etc you do feel protective.

That is what I meant - that if you had a daughter you'd be much less likely to accuse someone of making up a rape to get money.
I was talking about the posters making the argument - nothing about whether or not Kane is guilty.
