Bernie and the boys in Drumheller is awesome. Their Volcano Burger is the best one I've tried, it could still be a little more spicier in my opinion.

Had a Burger King Whopper for the first time (or at least since I can remember) and I was impressed, it's pretty decent for a fast food burger. I don't know why I always figured Burger King was to McDonalds as K-Mart was to Walmart.

Great post, I had been to smash burger several times in the NE and that had kept me away from the McKenzie location. Decided to give it a chance last night and really glad I did as it is night and day better than the NE location.

I'm a smash burger fan. I like five guys burgers a little better but prefer smash burger fries.

I had one the other week. There is a BK on the north side of Red Deer.

They must pump out the smell, it smells so good.

Burger Kings can be hit and miss. The only one in Calgary I find to be consistently good is the one in Forest Lawn.

And by "good"- I mean for being a Burger King.

Fat Burger is amazing, I do't know why I have waited so long to try them out but hot dang. What a fracking Burger. Poutine is okay, I'm going to try the chili cheese fries next time I go.

Agreed, the one in Queensland was damn fine and that is where my Whopper love started.

What is frustrating is it should be consistent quality from location to location, that is the point of "chain food".

Man, they're expanding, eh?

I really don't like that burger. It's totally blah to me.

I tried the Maple Chipotle burger at A&W over the weekend and it's great. Would eat again.

I though their burger was a little underwhelming TBH. Didn't really blow my hair back. Also tried Boardwalk a few days back, same thing. Good but not amazing. Their poutine is quite good though.

Earls bacon cheddar burger still ranks as one of the best I've had.

Earls is where I got my start cooking, and I totally agree with you their burgers are awesome. Especially after they switched to the home baked buns back in '09 (I was the guy baking them for a while). Best way to get an earls burger: two patties, cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce. Mmmmmm

The chilli cheese fries are pretty tasty. At least at the one in Okotoks.

Also used to work at Earls. Ate a lot of their burgers, as that was all I could afford with their pathetic staff discount, 50% off up to $10....

Haven't eaten there in years, but are they still using frozen patties?

SmashBurger, for a limited time, has the Sin City burger. It is on an egg bun, has haystack onions, smash sauce (whatever that is), Applewood smoked bacon, American cheese and a fried egg. Very tasty.

We weren't using frozen patties when I worked there, so I guess not? Been a long time.

Also haha, totally forgot about that staff discount! Not sure what's worse, that or my current employer's 25% off when everything is so marked up that you basically end up paying a normal price for it.
