Will be finally getting a PS4 next week. With my PC starting to fall behind and the upgrades I'd need, I'm just going to build a new PC around Christmas. Plus there's finally a few console only games I want to buy, like NHL 16

That is purrty. First time I've ever really been tempted by a themed console to be honest. But I already have one and buying a second before a PS4 would seem odd.

Console is $500 US, so like $650 CDN probably?
Controllers are up in the US for $70 so hopefully $90-95 CDN?

For us, certainly not. The Canadian dollar is terrible.
But for people in the US it's a great deal, a fire sale even. 700+ post thread on gaf about it, people buying to flip the TV and/or Xbone. 12,000 sold the first day. Apparently Best Buy is even substituting various other cheap TVs and Xbone models to pair up because demand is high.
Similar to last year, I'd imagine Microsoft and retailers are going to be doing big discount sales on it into the holiday season to get the sales numbers. It might even push the North American NPD numbers for the month.

I've always wished I liked simulation racing games. They all look fantastic, but I've tried to get into them too many times in the past and just get bored/frustrated.
Think it's hilarious that Turn 10 can pump out a high quality product every two years while Polyphony takes forever and GT is getting worse...

To be honest, my favorite racing games of all time are still the Need for Speed series ('The Need for Speed' through Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2, and everything in-between) for PC. I've always had a soft spot for arcadey racers with supercars in them. HP2 was probably my favorite, with Need for Speed II:SE being in second. I mean, II:SE is where I discovered the McLaren F1... to date, still my dream supercar.

My favorites were Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge. Just absurdly fast, fun, arcade-style with extravagant crashes and destruction. 'Crash Mode' was probably the best idea anyone had in a racing game ever. Was disappointed in Paradise and now the developer/IP is basically dead.
Those old NFS games on PC were awesome though. I wish the series would move away from the open world stuff it's been doing recently. The live action story stuff in the new one looks cringe worthy.

Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition for the PS2
I really wish Rockstar could incorporate how fun that game was into their GTA series or even just come out with a new Midnight Club.

The stretch of NFS games from Underground to Carbon was fantastic. I love racing games with street racing, cop chases (even though Underground 1+2 had no cops) and tons of customization.

Burnout Revenge = love. And yes, Crash Mode was sheer genius. We would spend hours playing that damn mode.

I will admit I enjoyed Underground 2. The ability to modify the cars in so many ways was fun and the variety of the events and ways to play kept the game fresh.
Pontiac GTO with absurd amounts of power made for an AWESOME high score drift car.

Yep -- I should send that one in to Microsoft as a backwards compatible title. That would get me on board for BC!

I won't even buy racing games that don't have lots of car customization options anymore. I think the last one I bought was the last Midnight Club game.

Submit it as a request and I will gladly vote for it.
EDIT: It's already on the list, go vote! http://xbox.uservoice.com/forums/298...nout%20revenge
