Okay, I just saw the dumbest coaching descision ever

Winnepeg gets the ball with 1:43 left in field goal range needing a FG to tie the game. They can't pass to save their ass tonight as Mike Quinn throws about as well as I do. They have a great back in Charles Roberts and should run him two times to get in position to kick that FG and tie the game up hoping that Roberts can make something happen and keep the clock moving. Their D is their biggest strength and thats whats going to help them win this game.
No they throw the thing on first down and toss an INT with a QB who is brutal.

 DUMB, DUMB, DUMB!!!!

Cuthbert said a little later on that he thinks Quinn changed the play on his own; which is why he was pulled on the next possesion.
Worst thing for me; every time I've watched the Bombers in HD so far they have lost. |

If he did that I think he just played his last down in the CFL. That cost them a chance to tie the game up. Kahari Jones anyone?

Winnepeg might be the only place left willing to look at Khari again!
But they have probably moved on. This does make things a little more interesting in the east though. Thanks to Calgary spanking Montreal, there could be some interesting games down the stretch!

Khari's not coming back...by being cut from Edmonton, again, and no other teams with Q's at QB (Winnipeg...no one knew Glenn would be decent; Toronto when Damon Allen went down), you know he's done.
I think Glenn AND Stegall are back next week vs Saskatchewan...so that should hopefully turn things around.

But, I have an idea. I saw that movie Invincible tonight about the open try-outs Philedelphia had and that Papale who made it. I think they should have these in the CFL, anyone else think this is plausible? There was some guy from Regina who made it on to the Green Bay Packers this week as punter, I'm sure there is Canadian talent out there... I think it would make the league more exciting too.

I watched the end of that game and I'm not sure which was the worse decision. What you described above or putting in a cold third-stringer and having him throw. As they lined up I said, "Running play!" and as soon as you saw it wasn't, you just knew it spelled disaster. They showed the coach and all I could think was what must have been going on in his mind, "OHHH ****, THAT'S RIGHT!!! WE HAVE THE BEST RUNNING BACK IN THE LEAGUE! CRAP! FORGOT ABOUT HIM!"
Note: I personally don't think he's the best RB, but definitely the second best. Just thinking about it from their perspective. Although considering they never let him touch the football in the fourth quarter, you kind of wonder about that.

I don't think they do this everywhere in the CFL, but I could be wrong.

The Stamps & other CFL teams do have open tryouts...a bunch in the US, but I believe they have mini-camps before training camp starts. I don't think anything really comes of them though

Jon Ryan didn't exactly walk onto the field and try-out. I believe he was invited to GB after having an awesome season in Winnipeg last year.

Hamilton should have those open try-outsFat, out of shape 40 year olds can't do much worse than the crap team they have now.
What an embarassment that team is to the entire league. They'd have trouble beating a 9 year old girl's touch football team, they're that terrible.
