I have never watched either player before (or if I have, I certainly didn't notice them), so I won't get a better picture of their abilities until the camp itself.

Although the ice times have been booked on July 7th through July 10th at Winsport, if that helps you plan your visits.

Monday is fitness testing, Tuesday through Friday is on ice stuff. There won't be scrimmages this year as far as I know.

Word we got is probably scrimmages, but fewer of them. I'd expect one, at least.

I heard more practice style stuff myself, but they didn't rule out scrimmages, so it will probably be 1 instead of 2.

Day 1 is fitness testing. Generally you'll have a lot better access on the Tuesday-Friday when the guys are coming and going from the rink as they'll often stop to sign stuff.

Hard to say. You have to remember the kind of nationalistic fervour Russia is in right now. It could just be that it's Russia that's making things hard. It's quite possible that Rafikov has for example been told by his organization that visiting an NHL development camp would not be viewed favourably.
For background, the talks between NHL and KHL over a transfer agreement have just failed.

Essentially the KHL wants to keep their players.
