I'm a bit bummed on this one. Oh well lots of better D prospects ahead of him.

I liked Ramage, but he's probably not going to be an NHL regular, so realistically this affects the NHL Flames very, very little. Best of luck to him though.

Well, you better say something else. Stralman was barely ever a Flames prospect. He was drafted by the Leafs, spent four years in their system and played 88 games for them. He was traded to the Flames in July of 2009 and traded away three months later. Don't think being in the Flames system for 3 months counts as much of a Flames prospect.

Ramage's mind was always way ahead of his abilities, and his abilities never quite caught up. Best of luck to him with the Jackets organization.

Originally thought he signed with the Blues. Would have been ironic if he went to the team that traded his dad to the Flames.

Yeah, wouldn't surprise me if he eventually became a coach at some level.

I hope he beats the tar out of Tom Erixon in a CBJ vs Pit line brawl this coming season.

Tom doesn't engage in any skerfuffles , he skates swiftly to the bench.

Hadn't seen it anywhere and wasn't sure where to put this, it probably doesn't deserve it's own thread, but I just saw that Chris Breen has signed a 1-year deal with the Bruins back on July 1st. There has certainly been a mass exodus of Flames defenseman in the system this year.

- Breen to Boston
- Ramage to Columbus
- Cundari to San Jose
- Piskula to Anaheim
- Acolatse to Florida

A lot of turnover but I don't think any of these guys will amount to much in the NHL, just another sign that organizational depth in defenseman has been upgraded a lot in the last couple seasons.
