Only one way this makes sense:
Benning walks up to Murray then, pretending to need to tie his shoe, holds out a brown paper bag to Murray and says, "Can you take this for a second?"
Murray agrees, then notices a foul stench coming from the bag and says, "Wow, what is in here?!?!"
Benning jumps up and, running away, yells: "Ha! It's Kevin Bieksa! He's your problem now!"

not in cash dollars, he only gets paid 2.5m
which for a team like the Ducks is a big factor

Wasn't Ferland healthy to start the series vs the Ducks?

I would have loved him to stay with the Canucks but if he was to be traded I'm pretty stoked it was to the top team in the division as this will weaken whatever pairing they play him.

Good trade for the Canucks. Bieksa is just not very good anymore. He makes the Ducks worse if anything.

I choose to believe the Canucks management were so embarrassed by the playoff series vs us they shipped out Lack and Bieksa.

Good news: Bieksa makes the Ducks worse than last year.
Bad news: Anaheim managed to beat us in 5 games last year, apparently without watching a single minute of film from the Flames/Canucks series in the first round.

Nope, he tore his oblique in round 1 and was playing injured. It eventually got so bad that he had to sit out for a couple against the Ducks

No, he had abdominal tear which he aggravated in game one of Ducks series, if memory serves right.

Oh. I thought he got his bell rung. I see the article now about him saying it was his oblique. My mistake.

I like the cut of your gib and would be interested in subscribing to your newsletter. Your opinions intrigue me.

I heard on Fan960 that they expect Bieska to be signed to an extension tomorrow. We can only hope! They have three young defenseman to sign next off-season, hopefully they waste cap space on Bieska.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Expect the Ducks and Kevin Bieksa to get a 2 yr extension done today. Aav could be less than what it is now ($4.5). Around $ 4 mil. #TSN
According to Dreger, Bieksa made an extension a condition of him waiving his NTC.

So happy the ducks didn't get into the finals. Just more reason to hate the Ducks even more! This is like the Canucks twins part Deux!

Did I read that right? I swear on the little crawl under the Jays game, it just said that the Ducks signed Bieksa to a two-year extension at 4 million per year!
WTF?
EDIT:
Umm, I think I did read that wrong. I believe it's 2 years/2 per year. Darn.
Still, good to see them lock him up for a couple more!

He was a key part of the core only a couple years ago. Now he is traded for a late 2nd.
The Canucks are doing exactly what everyone criticized the Flames for a few years ago - holding onto their aging vets far too long, and ruining the potential returns for them.
The Nucks are dying a slow death - enjoy it, you troll!

No, it's 8 million over 2 years following next season.
