Kinda seems like the only team that needed a goalie and didn't get one is Calgary.

St. Louis needs to do something still for a g. And they need to shake up the core. Berglunds ntc kicks in at midnight so easier to move him today if they are planning to do so.

millions tweeted the Flames aren't done tinkering with the blueline. The whole Franson thing may be a real thing. Wonder who they ship out?

Who is being shipped out and what is coming back? What else might Brad the Magnificent be cooking up??

Thats what I'm saying. What the heck does Treliving have on the burners right now? The Hamilton thing is out of the way and the real work is about to get going. Navigating FA is serious work. I'm excited to see what he manages to pull up out of the havok.

I am giddy thinking about what black magic Brad is going to weave, perhaps conning someone into giving up a massive return for Wideman with 1-2 million retained when the top UFA D-men have been scooped up.

With Dallas signing Niemi, I wonder if a Hiller for Lehtonen swap would be possible as it would save DAL one year on their backup and save some $$$. I believe Lehtonen to be superior to Hiller, despite Kari's poor season last year. Lehtonen/Ortio makes me feel a lot better than Hiller/Ortio.

Nill's been pretty firm that he has no interest in moving Lehtonen. Wants the two Finns as a tandem next season. I'd be all for having Lehtonen so it was disappointing hearing Nill say that.

There's no way Anaheim can run with Andersen/Khudobin/Gibson, it's just too crowded . . . Something has to give, and I feel perhaps the Flames are on top of something there. Just a hunch.

Jason Brough @JasonPHT
Wonder if the Flames will shop Wideman. And if they do, if they'll wait to extend Giordano first.
Bob McKenzie
@TSNBobMcKenzie
@JasonPHT it was suggested to me that isn't plan tho plans can change. Gio, Brodie, Hamilton, Russell, Wideman likely to be top 5. Cap team.

I still can't see how it's not Wideman that goes.
Brodie/Gio
Russell/Hamilton
I'm pretty comfortable with that.

They're probably going to put Gibson in the minors next season. Still not waiver eligible and doesn't look ready yet. Needs more seasoning and he's not going to get it playing 20 games in the NHL. Besides Gibson would be expensive. If Lehner and Jones commanded a 1st, I suspect Gibson would command a 1st+

We'd be right back where we ended up last year if we run into one injury.
Ideal:
Giordano - Hamilton
Brodie - Wideman/UFA
Russell - Engelland
Schlemko/Diaz
We need to improve our NHL depth, not simply replicate it.

Which is exactly why I don't see us trading Wideman.
I also hope we don't sign Franson to some dumb contract. I think he's a good depth guy but not much more.

Oduya or Erhoff would make us better. Just can't see us paying the big July 1 bucks though.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

You could argue that the Flames will be the Ducks biggest competition in the Pacific division for years to come. I can't see them sending a potential stud goaltender to the Flames unless it's for a King's ransom.

Direct from the agency. RT @SCGscott: Drew Stafford closing in on a deal to remain a Winnipeg Jet.
Theres one guy gone I was hoping the Flames could get in on.
