This is an example of why this thread is bad. Rather than some discussion or rationale from the GMs involved it just gets buried. I think quite a few of us would be interested in hearing the thought process behind this one.

Its been quite a few days and no rationale from DET on that move. Very weird.

It started off as an enquiry on my end on a number of deals/options, offering a pick and a prospect, he then asked if I would do Tristan Jarry for him after some back and forth and I agreed.

 Nikita Zaitsev

Unfortunately, I can't be around for all 5 rounds of the draft due to commitments with the daughter. Winnipeg was looking for picks. Deal worked well for both sides.

James Reimer's stay in New York was short lived. He's off to the Desert in a deal that adds another 1st round pick to the Rangers.
 To Ari:
 -Reimer
 -2015 5th
 -2016 4th
 -$2 mil

 To NYR:
 -2015 1st (#19)

Did the Rangers just turn a 3rd round pick into 19th overall? Wow

			36 + 85 to FLA - Nieto to NYR
I'll likely be able to get someone with higher upside than Nieto at 36.

 That pushes my tally to 8 2nds, 11 3rds and 4 4ths. That'll be fun.

Well you're certainly going to have a good time at the draft!

We justified this deal by coming to the conclusion that while 36 MAY get someone with higher upside, a 2nd rounder is far from a lock to make the NHL and Nieto already has and still has some good upside. Think it's a fair deal for both though.

Thanks to CG for the trade!

Rangers and Coyotes hooked up for another quick deal that sees three decent prospects move to Arizona for a 3rd round pick in 2016.
 To Ari:
 -Reid Boucher, LW
 -Olivier Archambault, LW
 -Chris Calnan, RW

 To NYR:
 -2016 3rd (Bos)

With AHL space at a premium in New York right now, a deal like this had to be done or risk losing guys like these for nothing, so we're happy to help the Yotes out and get a 3rd round pick in return. Works for both.

Thanks for the quick and easy negotiations flambers.
