I'm the same way, love bacon with breakfast, but don't think it really fits with all these foods people keep putting it with.

Do you think it's one of those things where it became the internet "one upper" and people stopped caring about what actually tasted good and instead just all started racing to post pics of bacon with the next cool food and go;

Step 1: Make regular steak
Step 2: Wrap bacon around it
Step 3: Enjoy!!!!

Followed by a whole bunch of likes. There's no way people are cooking half the bacon mixes on the internet and actually liking them, or at least not liking them the way they pretend to with the whole "OMG it's to die for!!!!". More like "Yeah, I guess this is editable".

I saw that Pilsbury Cinnamon Bun wrapped in bacon concoction in the Funny pics thread the other day and thought "How in the **** would that not taste odd/disgusting?".

I think you're exactly right about the one-up stuff. But it's not just individuals, restaurants are in on it too.

I've done bacon wrapped steaks or chicken breast, and it's usually decently tasty, but when you're into bacon cinnamon rolls and bacon icing, that's a no go for me. Even the bacon wrapped grilled cheese, I would venture to guess tastes much better with 3 pieces of bacon inside than it does covered and fried in them.

I don't care if you don't want to wear it, but people shouldn't make ridiculous arguments about the inconvenience of carrying it around with them, as if that's the only option they have.

The bacon wrapped pizza from Little Caesaers is actually really good. I'm going to make bacon wrapped jalepenos this weekend. Looks amazing.

Because our tax dollars pay for health care and if you are wearing a helmet, odds are our health care system wouldn't be strained by your ignorant move when you smash your head on a curb?

Wearing a helmet is a law for a reason. Going to McDonald's is a choice and not in fact, breaking the law.

on a similar not, smoking kills people faster than healthy old age. old people living longer ultimately put more strain and cost on the health care system.

Helmet laws (at least for adults) are stupid. It should be a choice.

There is a long list of things that strain our health care system. Bike-related head injuries are very far down that list.

Well, we could do this all day.

Guess I should drive home without my seatbelt on too right?

Tobacco - absolutely. Sugary/fatty foods at least provide some energy to people and aren't so bad when eaten in moderation.

I agree with you. Bacon is becoming a cult on the internet. At least they are using real bacon. All these products with bacon flavoring can GTFO. I got a bunch of fake bacon products for Christmas one year and they all were terrible. Bacon floss smelled like gross smoke, tasted nothing like bacon. What a dumb idea anyways, after brushing and flossing you want your mouth to feel clean, not like you just ate meat.

It's like those tiny chocolate booze bottles. Oh you like Canadian Club? Well here is product that isn't that but pretends to be and it worse on every level. That's what those fake bacon products are. They remind you that you like bacon but aren't eating it.

So what is the point? People don't want their hard earned tax dollars going to help stupid people survive their negligence, I get it. However, if that is your reasoning for supporting the helmet law (I fully understand that there are an array of reasons one may do so, but you and others noted tax dollars), you therefore have to be in favour of any regulation that would decrease the strain on the healthcare system. As I mentioned, the things on that list above bike head injuries is extensive.

It just bothers me when people use "but my tax!" as a reason for supporting/not supporting something, and then aren't consistent when it involves things that are a much more impactful on the situation.

The money provided by tickets to people not wearing helmets is likely more than the cost incurred by the health system for bike head injuries.
