The passengers were getting weary of their prison. They wanted out, and wanted to be done with the alien host as fast as possible. Understandably, the tension between passengers were growing. If they could find a member of the host, it would likely diffuse some of the tension.
Opinions swung between many of the passengers over the course of the day, but finally they settled on East Coast Flame. They were swift in their action, hoping for the best.
East Coast Flame, Passenger, Lynched Day 3
Later that evening, the passengers heard a sound down the hallway. Someone was calling for them? It was hard to hear through the bulkhead, but it definitely sounded like a human voice. Carefully, they opened the cargo bay hatch and went down the hallway to check where the voice was coming from.
It is now Night 3. You may not post in the thread during this time. If you have night actions, they must be PM'd to me by Sunday, June 7th at 10:00 PM Mountain Time. Please title the PM "Night 3 Action".

They approached the console, a blinking light indicating a stored message. In fact, there were a few messages. It looked like someone had been sending encoded transmissions to the ship for some time. A couple of the passengers wondered why it was only now that they were able to see them. The aliens playing games with them, perhaps?
Each message was the same, and the message was not comforting:
THE HOST WANT TO USE YOU FOR SOMETHING. WE ARE TRYING TO FIND WHAT THEY NEED YOU FOR. YOU ARE NOT SAFE. DO WHAT YOU CAN TO SURVIVE. HELP WILL BE THERE SOON.
Perhaps they were surprised the ship was still largely intact? No one had felt any changes in course or speed lately either. Time was running out for them, however. It couldn't have been too far to the edge of the system at their original speed. Everyone was hoping this supposed help would arrive soon.
It is now Day 4. With 14 alive, it takes 8 votes on any one player to hammer. It takes 5 votes to deadline lynch.

Wrong. You go back and see who the dead trusted and who they implicated. I'm looking at how easily the votes came off the neutrals and mrk and how they ended up on ECF.
My guess is Oling got the spore again. Whether he's infected or not remains to be seen.
I'm golfing now but will expand later tonight on all my thoughts.

I was pretty sure ECF was not scum, thus why I refused to vote for him. I have some ideas but I am on duty until midnight here, so 10pm Calgary time. I will post an in depth post then.

Interesting move, Devo. Putting the vote summary out yourself to head off suspicion?

Now that work is over, I reviewed the sequence of events today and still feel surprised. ECF does the "death post" and then HG comes along right after and votes for me (leading the town again as has been pointed out) and then vote run up was a bit abrupt. I just can't help but feel like it was a scum plan to get the votes going. The sequence was just too close together and the events seem linked.
1) ECF posts a town like death post
2) HG comes along and moves votes
3) Squiggs and Timbo jump on board quickly
4) Lego shows up and moves over to me
5) ECF comes back at the end of the day and moves over to me
Of course, there are town in here, but the sequence was so sudden it just seems like it was planned. Wait until the final day and then throw a plan in motion. I still think HG is the ring-leader though, and at first I thought he may have just capitalized on ECFs deathpost, but the way it went just seems like they were ready for that, almost back to back.
|
How did your theories work out for you with ECF flipping town?
I'm not sure why a few of you are trying to turn my being away into something sinister, I was camping it's as simple as that. Just a heads up I'm gone Friday-Sunday this weekend for a golf trip, again nothing sinister.

Mrkajz hasn't voted for any of the people being lynched, is that why he isn't on your list?

it takes about 27 seconds to find out who has voted the three passengers out. No reason for me to hide it.

yeah Puxlut and mrkajz haven't voted for the three lynched passengers. I only checked those votes ... checking all votes would have made for a pretty big spreadsheet already.

This early in the game, when it's three scum against the town (11-15 people)... why would scum even risk showing any voting pattern or trying to influence votes? Seems like a fools strategy. Later on, after day 5 or so when there are enough turned and more townies lynched it might be an issue.
If I were scum I'd let the town gang up on each other for the first days, create their own suspicious voting habits naturally and start strategically placing votes later on in the game when they carry more weight.

Make note of the people pushing suspicious voting patterns very early on as they are likely scum trying to get towns people to jump on each others backs.

I knew that voting for the lynchee 3 times in a row was risky to myself. Why would I do that if I was scum, it would have been easy to vote for one of the other candidates (either HockeyGuy15 or MrKajz44). It seems pretty unlikely that they're both scum, so the best scum play would have been to vote for someone who wasn't getting lynched.

SebC was definately town yesterday, today he could be turned so we need to be careful with fully trusting him.
Puxlut is still guaranteed to be town.
If you passed the spore last night let everyone know so we can lynch oling. Otherwise Oling is almost guaranteed to not be host could be turned again though

It's interesting that you jump out and try to put the spore on Oling right away. Is this a host or turned trying to direct the agent somewhere?
