This game should be over early but you never know what could happen. NZ has the ability to take wickets and they won the previous match against Australia with a lower score.

Congrats to the Aussies for a dominant performance and 5th World Cup. Also, congrats to NZ for showing they are now one of cricket's top teams.

Congrats to Aussies. Philip Hughes must be smiling and gave em all the good luck.

Good run by the Kiwis, keep the team together but tell McCullum not every ball needs to be a 4 or a 6.

With IPL starting on Wednesday, I expected to see a few matches showing up on my cable box guide. No such luck. So I did some searching around to see what's up, and it looks like Sportsnet's rights deal expired with the 2014 season.

Apparently, Willow.tv is carrying IPL 2015 in Canada only (ESPN has the rights in the states). Willow.tv is an online service that has an app on Apple TV, Roku, etc. When I go to the Willow icon on my Apple TV, it is asking for $7.99/month to subscribe. which isn't that bad actually for the two months of IPL.

So just a heads up that:

- Sportsnet is not in the picture for 2015
- Willow.tv is seemingly the Canadian rights holder

Here's a Reddit link that has just popped up:

http://www.reddit.com/r/Cricket/comm...r_canada_only/

I quite enjoy IPL. And at $8.99, that's a lot cheaper than Sportsnet World. And it appears that you can watch live and on demand.

Rogers really missed an opportunity here. Especially with a channel like OMNI available. 4 years of cricket and nothing to show for it.

The big news is International Cricket returning to Pakistan after 6 years. No team has toured Pakistan since Sri Lanka team was attacked by terrorists in 2009.

Now in 2015, Zimbabwe is touring Pakistan, lotsa security. First T20 happening right now.

I doubt Rogers sold enough ads, or enough Sportsnet World packages, to make the cost of IPL worthwhile to them.

Which is a shame, because I probably would subscribe to SN World if it wasn't really just "Sportsnet soccer and rugby"

yeah i think it was a missed opportunity and not enough thought went into it. they figured they just needed something for SNWorld.

They should have put it on OMNI and sold advertising to Indian/Carribean businesses in Toronto. Who watches OMNI? Ever?

I just can't justify Sportsnet World. They haven't got much for European International Rugby now and at $15/month its crazy. I used to watch the IPL as well and actually quite liked that, but these losses just push me more towards streaming because you can actually see these events and leagues. Big mistake by Sportsnet IMO.

With all of the channel capacity of Sportsnet (and TSN), is there really a need for a subscription-only, premium channel like SN World anymore? Especially considering their content is getting thin. It does make me wonder how much longer something like SN World will last. As long as people keep paying for it, I suppose.

I subscribed to Willow.tv for the IPL season. I didn't get to see as many games as I would have liked, but it was nice to be able to watch on a computer, Apple TV, etc. either live or on demand. I'll do it again next year, assuming they retain the rights, but I would have preferred if SN (along with Omni) featured a few games here and there instead of running loops of Sports Centre all night and morning.

The fact that TSN is showing the ENTIRE U-20 World Cup from New Zealand and the entire French Open on 4 different courts plus other sports and Sportsnet is dicking around with a $15 channel showing nothing makes Rogers look really dumb.

What a game of T20. Pakistan were 40-5 in the 7th over chasing 172. They managed to cross the line in 19.2 over with 9 wickets down. What a chase, some massive hitting.

Looks like a dead pitch. 4 centuries already and the match is only in its 2nd inning.

First test was a beat down though. Kiwi pace attack really looking toothless so far.

Warner has centuries in a 3 straight innings.

Yep. Ross Taylor just became the first kiwi to bat a double century against Australia.

It is finally happening!!! Australia and New Zealand will play the first ever Day/Night Test Match at the Adelaide oval this weekend. This is a major step towards keeping test cricket relevant in the modern world and is arguably the biggest change to the sport since they allowed overarm bowling.

Bring on the pink Kookaburra!
