One of the most blatant tank jobs ever witnessed and they miss out on McDavid and Babcock
Oh this again. Give the tank job a rest already. And it isn't even one of the 5 most blatant tank jobs in sports THIS SEASON.

Not even close. That would be the tank job the Pens did to secure the pick to draft Mario.

Great. So fire him. How many coaches actually last through their entire contracts?
They still have to pay him if they fire him. So the Red Wings should have just said F-IT, well just fire him and pay him 20 million to be fired for the last 3+ years!

At the end of the day, unless Eakins is hired, Buffalo will finish ahead of both Edmonton and Toronto.

L.A. Lakers
Philly 76ers
NY Knicks
TB Bucs (Unless taking out your starters up 14 in last half of last game to loose and get 1st pick doesn't count)
Phoenix Coyotes (Way worst tank job. Buffalo has no talent but tried. Phoenix quit AND traded players)

This Babcock contract is nothing. There is no cap and the leafs literally print money. They could eat the 50 million and it wouldn't matter to them. Phaneuf cripples their ability to get other players, Babcock just hurts the pocketbook of one of the wealthiest franchises in North American sports.

Yes. It happens all the time.

If you read the information available you'll note that Babcock's contract is heavily front-loaded.

I wonder why that is?

I respectfully disagree.

I'm not a tinfoil hat tanking conspiracy theorist but Buffalo tanked. And they're acting like whiny little bitches about it. They still have good players and excellent prospects and are still going to land Eichel. They should STFU and get on with it but they absolutely, most certainly and obviously tanked this season.

Lakers have been on a slide for couple years now, Kobe can't stay healthy, they can't win.
Knicks are just a BAD team.
76ers, yes, they tank
TB no, it doesn't count. They're in shambles, no QB prior to drafting another bust this past draft.
Coyotes, also tankers.

Sabres traded their starters TWICE. Iced a brutal roster. The players with their limited skills tried their level best but the management sure tried to throw games.

So I don't agree with you. Three big tankers were Coyotes, Sabres, 76ers this past season.

This reminds me of when Burke went to Toronto a bit. Not the same job, but same kind of hype, ego and expectations.

Burke lasted 5 years before they fired him, never making the playoffs once, I could see a similar ending with Babs

- They shut Kobe down depsite him WANTING to play
Knicks are just a BAD team.
-And Buffalo Isn't?
76ers, yes, they tank

They were a sleeper pick to make playoffs this year! They WERE WINNING at halftime of the last game and PULLED THEIR STARTERS to ensure finishing last. That's 100X worst then anything Buffalo did
Coyotes, also tankers.

The NBA has a self-admitted tanking problems. Those owners said they wanted to loose the exact same as Buffalo.

So the most boring person from HBO 24/7 - Red Wings / Maple Leafs just went to the most boring team from HBO 24/7 - Red Wings / Maple Leafs.

Neat.

Doubt Phaneuf plays the right defense position anymore other than PP.

Maybe this is what he'll need to finally win a Jack Adams.

Great hiring. A bit surprised as a few days ago apparently they were out, but 50 million will make a lot of people change their minds.

If I had a nickel for every "I am outraged at Buffalo's tanking!" post on this board...

Give it up already. Every thread that even sort of relates to the Sabres has the same people posting the same post verbatim over and over. We get it. You're annoying.
