Could Miller's comment be some gamesmanship to try and get the Flames to take a lot of low percentage shots?

Yeah, he is probably trying to make them think it will be easy and hope that it affects their game plan.

I doubt the Flames change anything though.

If anything the comment will make the flames drive to the net more and try to get under Miller's skin.

I worry that I might not make it until Saturday!

Seriously though, it is much, MUCH harder to stay awake at work after the loss.

So Saturday's game is at 9pm. The one night I would almost prefer it at the later time. Making it worse is we are hosting a dinner which can not be rescheduled.

Do any NHL Gamecentre people know if gamecentre works for the Flames-Nucks series despite being located in Canada where local broadcasters are broadcasting? I never bothered to test it. That way I can delay the start time by an hour (and turn off my phone)... ugh! Not ideal, as nothing like fully live, but it is an important dinner.

“You gotta hand it to them,” Jones said. “They played like a desperate team (Thursday). For most of the game, we had a few pushes here and there, but they really played well tonight. I can’t really pinpoint (where the game slipped away) even when we scored that first goal, they kept coming and Hills kept us in it.
“But there’s only so much we could do.”

“We had a couple shots, a couple good looks, but the puck wasn’t going in for me (Thursday)” said Bennett who finished a minus-one with two shots on net and three hits. “We’re still ahead in the series and we’ve got home ice advantage and we’re still in good shape, for sure.”

“I knew if we were going to win here, they’re not going to just give their game away and go on vacation,” said the Swiss netminder who stopped 41 of 43 shots to Miller’s 20 saves. “We still have home-ice advantage.
“We’re up 3-2 and the pressure is on them to win the next one. Certainly, we want to win at home and we want to do everything to win the series but we have to learn from (Thursday). We didn’t play our best game, but it’s a good sign we can still play better.”

“A real tight-checking game,” said head coach Bob Hartley. “They’re a good team and we saw, once again, that the Sedins are world class players. They’re a great challenge for us.
“We’re up 3-2. We could have won the fourth game and we tried our very best. I’m very proud of our players. They did a great job. We battled and battled … that’s why we play those seven-game series.”

“We came in here (Thursday) hoping to finish them here, and it didn’t work out,” said Jones. “They played real well. They came at us with 40-something shots. I think they had 30-something after the first two periods. They threw everything at us. We just have to be more desperate.
“We’re going home, we’re going to have our home crowd and maybe that’ll get things going. We just have to be a little more desperate.”

“There’s no way,” said Mikael Backlund, unblinking, “we’re losing at home.
“NO way.”

“Hils,” agreed defenceman Kris Russell, “deserved a better effort from us. He kept us in the game. They came out hard. They’re fighting for their lives. We expected it. We just didn’t execute the way we wanted to.
“We got outworked a little bit. They’re a good team. They’re not going to give up.
“We didn’t get enough traffic, enough shots to the net, make the goalie work for it. We’ve got to get pucks deep, get our forecheck going better.
“We knew it was going to be a fight.”

“They brought their ‘A’ game,” acknowledged centreman Joe Colborne. “Hils stood on his head for us and I thought Miller played great, too, made some huge saves — three or four game-changers.
“We’ve got to bear down, get more pucks to the net and stay physical on their D.”

“Obviously,” said Backlund, “that’s the time you’ve got to score. The powerplay’s been good in the playoffs so far, but at crucial times like that, we need it to be the game-changer.”

“We had a couple chances to get that big second goal,” reasoned Hartley, “and we didn’t.
“They played well. They were desperate. We saw again that the Sedins are world-class players.
“It’s a seven-game series. We tried our best. We battled and we battled.
“It’s all about our body-language. All about our chemistry. We’ve been facing adversity all year.
“We know how our fans will welcome us when we get on the ice at the Saddledome. We’ll be ready to go.”

The whole thing can't help but make one a little nervous. I really wanted to close this out in 5 while our boot was still firmly on their throat. This needs to get done tomorrow night, as letting this get to game 7 just has bad news written all over it. Give them no quarter back in the Dome!

You're never in trouble in the playoffs until you lose at home. Flames have not lost at home.

I find it interesting reading some comments from Canuck fans that think the Flames don't have an advantage playing on home ice. I don't get how they can't see that the home team has been the best team in each game so far this series.

Calgary just hasn't played with the same energy in Vancouver as they have in Calgary. Seems like the same can be said about the Canucks.

I think the flames have a mega advantage playing at home, getting the better matchups and the excitement of the crowd. You can't ignore that at this point knowing just how loud the C of Red has been.

I just want them to win tomorrow. Get a few days rest before round 2. Just win Flames, just win.

That's how the fans here seem to be. Win, and they're unstoppable. Lose and they're a complete joke. Even after only game 3 Canucks fans at work were talking about them golfing already. After last night those same people are talking about a comeback.
