I mean it looks okay, but after the last one and Hollywood's track record with reboots/sequels (usually not good), I think cautious optimism might be the best approach.

I believe it will be a fun movie as long as you don't make the mistake of going in with expectations of it being a true JP sequel. It's a spin off and should be treated as such. Keep that in mind and I expect to be able to enjoy myself. It won't be winning any oscars but I'm hoping it will be a fun ride.

I'd rather them do it this way than to attempt to make (and butcher) a real sequel, like with Indiana Jones

I want to see dinosaurs and hear cheesy dialogue. Jurassic World is the ultimate high budget creature feature. I LOVE creature features. I am so pumped for this movie.

Exactly, it is a movie you can go into with zero expectations and just have fun with it.

Chris Pratt throwing out Arnold esque one liners and riding a motor cycle with pet Raptors to hunt a crossbred super predator dinosaur? What is not to love.

I am so excited for this movie. It almost gives me the feeling of anticipation the first one did as a kid in 1993.

I'm going to watch this movie for the logic, writing, and love interest storyline.

Well just got home from the movie and it was a hoot. Suspension of disbelief was easy for the whole movie except the Terrasaur scene, I just did not like it. And I will say I loved the ending, I would have been disappointed if it did not play out as it did.

Side note: In the aquarium scene after the shark gets eaten there is a guy in the crowd that stands up cheering. In 3D I thought for a sec that it was someone in the theatre, which I thought was annoying because it was distracting which caused me to miss part of the Mosasaur. Boo!

My "fan" complaint is why the lack of animatronic Rex? The company that works with them on the JPs still had her in their warehouse, yet she appeared to be computer animated in her scenes (although yeah you can't make that kind of scene with animatronics). I wish we got some old school Rexy thrown in over the course of the movie. The robot just looks so damn great and real.

I thought all the characters/actors were good (Jake Johnson was hilariously awesome), except Vincent D'Onofrio. I got the whole military use thing, but I didn't buy his personal motivations..yet he was being persistently annoying from the second he came on. It's like he was just there to be "that" guy, and had no character development. Dennis Nedry was an underpaid and greedy computer wiz, and wanted to cash in big. And he had the access to the embryos, so his story makes sense. Roland from TLW was this big game hunter that wanted a chance to hunt the greatest predator of all, and you bought his camaraderie with the other guys and motivation. This guy was just a loudmouth without any actual backstory..seemed lazy.

I hope they get Gareth Edwards, who did the recent Godzilla, for the next sequel. Trevorrow did admirably, but I think he borrowed too much from Speilberg, which came off as a pale imitation. Still, it was fun.

This movie really boiled down to the climax for me "How are they going to kill this thing?" and I feel it was a bit of a let down. Overall the movie was good but it doesn't come anywhere close to the original. CGI Rex's just don't carry the same pressence and sense of dread that the animatronics do. Raptor Squad was absolutely fantastic though

6/10 + 2 Raptor Squad points

Movie was an absolute hootenanny! That ending alone was worth the price of admission. Nice callbacks to the first JP too. Nothing will probably ever compare to the first JP. That movie was near perfection in my opinion. But this movie is Worlds (pun intended) ahead of any of the sequels. The progression of the first JP to the JW park made sense to me. Probably what Hammond would have ultimately had in mind, as well as the progression for the need to genetically enhance dinos to bring in new crowds.

They had the most tolerable kids of all the JP movies as well heh.
