Basically someone is going to have to get hurt quite badly, which I really hope doesn't happen.

Could have already happened, we'll never know. Likely there's concussions and broken bones on both sides, that's the ridiculous part. The NHL is straight up incompetent.

Good. Bob will use it to rally the troops. Release the Ferland, anything goes!!!
Seriously though, the NHL is a joke and I would never watch a game were it not for the flames.

Kind of glad there are no suspensions, want those guys in the line up to create the animosity, I think it's helping us.
Honestly, thought the Burrow's instigator was a little iffy. He threw em first, but Russell did head over there (as he should have). Dissapointed in the Hamhius none review though, that's the kind of crap we need out of this game.

I'm not surprised that Burrows' instigator was rescinded. Still think Bieksa deserved one given the time left, the opponent he went after, and the number of cheapshots he threw before Ferland was able to drop his gloves.

I really hope we dress Wolf next game. He needs to go Psyco and hurt a couple of those punk Sedins since Vancouver is going to take shots at Bennett/Gaudreau. Piece of crap Canucks. Anyone know where they are staying?

I really think Ferland running around hitting everything that moves and chirping back and forth with Bieksa really removes and chance of an instigator. Not that I think its right, but in the silly way that the NHL refs games that is probably what they think.

Not surprised about Burrows. But Hamhuis was a blatant head shot, no mistaking it. That the NHL is choosing to not protect the Flames young players, and reprimand Bob Hartley when he puts players on the ice to do it is just very disappointing. Looks like no one will police this but ourselves.

Cool, I guess then Flames can be just as rough to Bieksa, Hamhuis, and Burrows since the NHL endorses it.
The NHL wants their jerseys to be red.

It's painful how short-sighted the NHL is.
At some point in the playoffs - maybe not this year, maybe not next, but it's guaranteed at some point - a marque player is going to take a severe hit to the head and be taken away on a stretcher. Then, only then, will they call headshots the same in the playoffs and in the regular season. It's going to happen. It's just a matter of when. So why not show some leadership and get ahead of the curve?
Not the NHL's style. They want the playoffs to be a different game with different rules. Okay, then. That's what they're going to get - this series is only going to get more ugly. And when the league spokesmen wring their hands at hand out fines at the mayhem that will eventually break out, their hypocrisy will be evident to everyone.

A head shot like that in regular season would be a suspension without question...

Wow. I figured Burrows wouldn't get suspended but Hamhuis not getting suspended is a joke. Direct contact to the head, the principle point of contact is Bennetts HEAD! Does the NHL take any responsibility in protecting their players, no they don't.

I just wanted Hamhuis tossed from the series to state an example. I don't want to see serious injuries, but it seems inevitable at this point. The NHL is a joke

I hope not... in 2 weeks when we are in the 2nd round, and the Canucks are a distant memory.. we will still be sporting the bruises of a "eye for an eye" if we go that route.
I like to keep things the way they are... tell our young guys to keep their eyes out for the Canucks head hunters, but let them keep taking dumb dumb penalties.

NHL is such a poorly run league. What a disgrace. I know they're not going to suspend 3 Canucks but you can't look at the Hamhuis hit on Bennett and tell me he wouldn't get a game in the regular season. Such a farce.

This exactly. The NHL got it right. I don't want anyone suspended because this is the best hockey I have seen in years. The only thing I would change is I would make it a best of 15 series.
Nobody around here seemed to be complaining about Engelland not being suspended.
