I'm not gonna lie I wanted Drysaddle because I have a special affinity for Germany and Germans.

I don't watch near enough junior hockey, specifically outside the WHL, so I was disappointed originally that got 'stuck' Bennett and not Drysaddle.

Sometimes it feels good to be wrong though

If Burrows gets suspended I think Canucks will put in the goon Kassian and invite Ferland to fight as much as he can. Canucks knew with Ferland playing, pretty much everyone is watching over their back for a big hit. Just look at a couple of D I guess. The guy can sense Ferland in vicinity and are gunning for a hit. So the guy just turned around and ignore the puck. So just like what Dorsett was doing earlier, he invited Ferland for a fight and was turned down. Dorsett actually that Ferland what Dorsett did in Game 2.. ignore him.

Kassian is injured, according to the Vancouver radio station (just now) he still isn't skating

Kudos to the Dome tonight. Loud, not nervous and quiet.

Lots of timely, loud chants that help turn the tide.

Same game plan on Tuesday.

I love how it's not just rookies, but unheralded rookies that the Canuck's didn't expect to be factors that are taking over this series. It seems apparent that their strategy was to shut down the Monahan/Hudler/Gaudraeu line and wearing down our top 3 D-men to win the series.

Turns out the X-factor that came out of nowhere is Ferland and Bennett, and they have no answer to this yet.

It's not just the surprising play of these guys, but the coaching to prepare these guys for roles and trusting them in big game situations. Hartley and crew are completely out-coaching and out-strategizing the Canucks, it's becoming apparent. The ball is in Desjardins to not only answer this, but to one-up the Flames, or this series is over.

Simply an awesome game! Know what this series reminds me of? The '04 series against Detroit. Detroit was passing the puck like magicians (the Canucks - I hate to say it - have so many set passing plays that are pretty good) and the Flames countered it with speed and grit.

You can't help but get excited every time Ferland steps out onto the ice. I love having Bollig on the team right now. I love how Engelland is so tough, can play the game well, and is so controlled too. The Flames have been called with a few too many undisciplined penalties, but I think for the most part they have been controlled. Ferland learned quick in game one how he has to go about it.

We all want amazing puck-skilled players that dazzle us with their abilities. We want them to score amazing and memorable goals as often as possible. We sometimes forget how valuable guys are who can skate well, hit hard all the time, and dominate physically in a playoff series. These guys are just so invaluable to a team. The Canucks are falling apart not because of how the Flames are "out-skilling" them (though at times, they DEFINITELY are!), but they are falling apart because they are already sick and tired of getting physically dominated and looking over their shoulder constantly.

Oilers were built with a bunch of small, skilled but fairly physically weak forwards. They did a poor job compensating it with poor skaters in their bottom 6, or guys that weren't very disciplined. Flames are loaded up with guys that are big, are very disciplined, have some skill and can skate. I smile thinking that Bouma is hurt. I smile about Carrol, Smith, Hathaway, Kanzig, etc., - all kids who have great size, who are all cerebral, and with great character. Guys like these just stick out and help your team win. What Ferland, Engelland, Bollig and even Stajan are doing goes a heck of a long way in making the other team nervous, rattling them, getting them off their game, helping to win puck-battles, wearing the other team down, and also providing that emotional lift when the team needs it.

Engelland fighting 2 guys and doing well last game along with Stajan sticking up and having to fight Richardson has given this game this team the lift it needed. Stupid Canucks though... this only works if you have guys that can handle it. Thanks for providing another lift in just being dirty again. It is just giving more confidence to a guy like Ferland. There is no denying he has the entire team off its' game.

This team still has loads of skill, speed and size coming up the pipeline. This team will not care who they are playing - they have the types of personalities that will not allow this team to roll over and die at any point.

As a Flames fan, I am loving this series and watching the Canucks get plastered every game. I love how they are reacting and making themselves look like the ##### they are. I hope they call Baertschi up and give him firsthand experience at what it means to be a successful hockey player. The Flames are playing hard every shift. They are outworking the Canucks. They are making the Canucks look like the old, tired team on their last legs, and they are making the Canucks look like the much smaller team.

What a treat of a series to watch so far. I am glad Brian Burke, Treliving and Hartley are all believers in "Black and Blue" hockey. Flames don't look like the '04 Flames. They look like they are evolving into the '89 Flames with the amount of skill they have, and the guys they have that seem to relish the physical play. That is who they remind me of.

Forgot to mention, a "Let's go Schlemko" chant started in the Press Level and the rest of the Dome picked up on it. Is this real life?!?

Three awesome quotes:

"Did they say that? He's been pretty irrelevant" - Bieksa on Ferland after he lost his cool

"We played well enough to win" - Captain Sedin after getting dominated

"We had the chance to get the puck out on a few of their goals and we didn't. We gotta battle harder on the boards" - Lack calling it his teammates for not trying hard enough

A lot of Canucks fans whining.

One guy even said that Sestito needs to play between the Sedins and that will stifle Ferland. The radio guy hung up on him saying that was officially the stupidest thing he's ever heard on the post game show as the caller was essentially stating the reason the Canucks are down 2-1 in the series is because Sestito isn't playing between the Sedins.

A lot of chatter about all the things Nucks fans are complaining about on HF and CDC. The radio guys keep mentioning how awesome Ferland has been, that Bennett is a stud and "did you know he's only 18?!" etc etc. And they're serious too. No trolling detected

The best is the mention of more skill needed, and bringing up Baertschi would be the best move possible as he's the answer to their scoring woes. I'd love for Baertschi to reunite with Ferland.

Met Wardo coming down the stairs from the press level in 215. Shook his hand and said thank you for believing. Super nice guy, and dresses like a champ. What a night!

I like Aaron Ward!!

Just got home. Surprised at the bikes a quote on ferland being irrelevant. Sat close enough to see him chirping ferland all night. Ferland is in his head.

Hand is sore from all the high 5s along 17th. What a ride this year is. GFG
