The way Vancouver fans go on about the Sedins you would think they are clones of Wayne Gretzky. Yes, they are good players... every playoff team has good players... congratulations, do you want a ####ing cookie?

He was soundly outcoached by Hartley - the Flames couldn't get an outlet pass to work in the first with Canucks D stepping up in the neutral zone to disrupe the breakout. By the 2nd, Hartley had changed the breakout strategy and suddenly everything was flowing again.
Don't underestimate the importance of that coaching matchup.

The Sedins looked great early, and then less so in the third period. They are highly skilled cerebral players who will get their chances, but the way that game turned strongly suggests to me that there was indeed an "answer" on the Flames part. The fact that they were both held off the score sheet last night for the third straight game against Calgary bolsters my confidence that they have bigger problems than an inability to finish their chances. They are getting on; I wouldn't expect them to improve as the series wears on.

I hope the refs start calling all the pick plays the Canucks run.

I guess it's like a really good negotiation, in the end if both sides are unhappy, it's a good deal

My favourite is the guy who thinks the canucks should hire Sutter to coach (after what he feels is his inevitable firing from LA).

It's going to be funny when the series switches to CGY, the differences in coaching will become quite apparent, should be a good time for the top line to get rolling. As Desjardins arbitrarily rolls his lines, Hartley will get even more favorable matchups with the last change. Will be interesting to see if Willie adjusts next game and gives the flames top 2 lines a bit more respect.

The Sedins will still get their chances, Hiller will have to be huge again.
The thing I'm looking for is for our top line to answer when the Sedins get on the board. If the Gaudreau/Monahan/Hudler line plays like it can, they could be the best line in the series.

May take another game for them to get rolling. Whatever ails Monahan needs to pass. Gaudreau can dance like a water bug all day but if Monahan is off the pucks going nowhere.

Just watched the NBC highlights on GameCentre.
Chris Cuthbert >>>>>> Jimmy Cheerleader
I'll be tuning into NBC for every game in this series going forward.

How? NBC is airing prime time programming, not hockey. Which NBC channel are you going to see hockey on in Canada?

Looks like it's on USA Network in the US - Branded as NHL on NBC.
The 'away' feed on Gamecentre let me watch the entire game, I would assume it's avialable live as well.

I would be surprised if it's available live; Rogers owns gamecentre and would want you watching their feed I would think.

Yeah. Would be nice if we had USA Network, but no dice. Hoping at least weekend games will be shown on NBC channels.

But you can guarantee they won't be airing ours on main NBC.

Looking at our D ice time;
Wideman: 30:03
Russell: 29:07
Brodie: 26:05
Engelland: 20:15
Schlemko: 10:34
Potter: 3:56
Top pairing was playing too many minutes, and Brodie replaced Potter. Wotherspoon in for next game?

Yeah, you're right. No one in the major markets that we get NBC for will care about two Canadian teams. Damn. Oh well, maybe I need to mute the center channel so I don't have to listen to Hughson.

For comparison, their ice time according to NHL.com,
Edler: 22:11
Tanev: 20:57
Hamhuis: 20:11
Bieksa: 19:18
Weber: 19:02
Sbisa: 17:41

I don't think Hartley likes Wotherspoon, at least on that side of the ice. Plus I'm not sure replacing Potter with Wotherspoon = less minutes for the top three guys. I think Wotherspon only gets the same amount of time.
If the Flames can get a decent lead, the time will even out some.

I doubt NBC will show an all-Canadian matchup on their weekend programming. I think we are stuck with Hughson.

Yeah, I'm starting to get the feeling that Wotherspoon has a ways to go before he gains Hartley's trust. Not sure what the deal is, but with all the call ups to the big club, and all the practices he's had with the team he only touched game ice once in a meaningless end of season game.....and even with Potter playing very few minutes he still can't get into the line up.
