People suggesting it wouldn't be so bad if Toronto landed the #1 pick are out to Lunch.

The Leafs are a terrible organization and fanbase that outright DOMINATE the mainstream hockey media when they have no reason to.

Give them a generational young talent and that media over-saturation will double. It will become twice as unbearable (if such a thing were possible) and we'll hear even less local stories and content discussed at a national level.

Puke.

Toronto deserves another 65+ years of futility so the sheep in the GTA can continue to buy up and sell out mediocrity like it's going out of style. It's what they do best.

That, and it goes without saying, Edmonton is equally as undeserving of a #1 pick.

Arizona. Having McDavid in the division gives us a good chance to see him live. Sucks we only get to see Crosby in the Dome once a year.

Just please not Edmonton or Toronto

Is it possible nowadays for the likes of McDavid to pull a Lindros by refusing to play for the team who drafts him?

Yes, of course he could. The team who drafted him would own his rights for four seasons, at which point he would become a free agent, if I'm not mistaken.

Though they could obviously trade his rights before that.

The only good thing about Toronto winning the lottery is McDavid will finally bring the professional hockey back in Toronto. I still don't want to win it though.

1 week and we'll know. Also really interesting to see if Edmonton finally drafts a Defenceman

Arizona. Helps the league as a whole the most. Buffalo won't miss out too much with that Eichel kid.

2 years ago they drafted Nurse, to the delight of Pierre McGuire exclaiming "They get it! This pick proves they finally get it!"

Fortunately, it proved nothing. Besides, I thought they were really in need of a small, skilled winger.

It's two years, not four.
