Vancouver is officially our only possible playoff opponent now.

Sometimes its tough to get an objective read on how a team is playing, but it looked like the Kings (in the last half of third) were gassed and not working as a unit.
The Flames didn't look great against a very poor Arizona team (although clutch plays from our stars got er done).
I can't recall the oilers looking so composed and playing a decent system any time in the last decade.

Flames fans can safely cheer for the Jets on Thursday, as it is now mathematically impossible for us to finish ahead of them without also finishing ahead of LA.
Also a Winnipeg win on Thursday officially gets them in, meaning a possible unmotivated opponent for us on Saturday, maybe facing a backup goaltender and banged up players being rested.

Any combination of the Flames gaining 2 points OR the Kings losing 2 points and we are in.

Then the Sharks will tear the Kings apart on Saturday as payback for that series last year, and all is well!

Sharks are one of the only teams in the league that couldn't even get motivated for a revenge game IMO, so many players on that roster just don't care

I dunno, if there's one team they hate it's LA.

Great point. I no longer harbour malicious feelings towards the Jets. Until possibly Saturday

After what happened in last year's playoffs, they would love to take the rug from LA's feet. Can't get more spoiler motivation than that

Give the JETS huge credit. Their best player gets suspended for 4games, and they proceed to win the first 3 without him. 2 of which on the road, back to back, against 100point teams.

I might be wrong but...
LA goes 2-0-0 3rd Pacific 97 pts
CGY goes 1-1-0 2nd Wild Card 97 pts
-------------------------------------------
Winnipeg goes 0-2-0 Miss 96 pts
EDIT: Yup I'm wrong. Calgary would win ROW tie breaker vs LA.
EDIT EDIT: But this won't happen becuase Calagry is going to go 2-0-0 in the final two games.

No, if both LA and CGY ended up with 97 pts, CGY will be on top of LA because CGY hold the tie-breaker in # of ROW
Sorry, didn't see your edit

Flames have been without their best player for longer than that
