Default Elite Defenseman 101

I love this website.

Kevin Shattenkirk, defenseman of the St. Louis Blues, breaks down the elite defenseman in this league:

Part 1

Drew Doughty
Shea Weber
Ryan Suter
Duncan Keith

Part 2

P.K. Subban
Erik Karlsson
Kris Letang
Alex Pietrangelo

Here is the Elite Centers 101 by Logan Couture of the San Jose Sharks for those that missed it too.

I was about to raise an alarm because Gio isn't on the list, but I read the article first.

Shattenkirk still has the best last name/nicknames in hockey.

Shatter. Shats.

His twitter name is also awesome.

@shattdeuces

Pretty sure he sees Gio more often than Kris Letang. But it's a great article and there's no reason he has to comment on ALL elite defensemen in the NHL, just the ones he has something interesting to say about.

It is interesting seeing player perspectives on other players. I like how he said he tried to copy Nick Lidstrom moves.

Subban made sense because they grew up playing each other. That was a pretty fantastic story about him firing shots from center. Can't think of a bigger middle finger to the other team in junior. "I'm so much better than you I'm just going to try to score on your mediocre goalie from the neutral zone... you know, to make things interesting."

and if anyone really wants to see one about Gio:

"Okay, that’s all I have time for right now, but send me a tweet @shattdeuces to let me know who else you would like to see on here and I’ll do another one when the postseason is over (which is hopefully at the end of June)."

Gio isn't any good if he's sitting in the press box.
