I need this broken down:
Flames win agains Arizona, then lose to LA in regulations and then lose to WFG in shootout.
LA win the rest of games in regulation.
WPG win the rest of games in regulation except last game win against Flames in SO.
Flames out?

I'm more pissed at the Oilers right now, their ineptitude created this frikkin mess, and has set the bar at 98 points to get in.
Lowe and Mac-T are probably oblivious to the fact their dumpster fire of a team broke the NHL standings this year.

Kind of a silly way to look at it. Could have lost a bunch of the third period come back games.

"Two trains leave the station at the same time, one heading west and the other east. THe westbound train travels 14 miles per hour faster than the eastbound train. If the two trains are 760 miles apart after 4 hours, what is the rate of the westbound train? "

Flames would be at 96 points.
Kings would be at 100 points.
Jets would be at 100 points.
Shootout or not makes no difference. You have Jets and Kings getting all points possible.

I think there's a difference between losing a game here and there and no points in an 8 game streak.

He also corrected himself after:
@DarrenWHaynes: Poor choice of words with "doused" but with every Jets win and the way LA is going, the task ahead for Calgary keeps growing more daunting.

Yes, we would have 96 point, WPG 100, LA 100.
Our only hope in that scenario is Van loses out the rest the season starting tonight.

Go LA! Bury these losers.

if Flames win out, they get 99 pts
Let's say Kings beat Canucks tonight and win the remainder 2 of 3 they get 98 pts
Canucks lose tonight and beat the 2 bottom feeders, they get 99 pts
Jet get 4 pts in the remaining 3 games, and get 98 pts
Wild has 96 now and lose out and get 96 pts

At the end of the day no matter what happens in tonight's games, the Flames hold their destiny in their own hands. Win out and they are in no matter what. It's a tall task, but if we've learned anything this year, it's that this is an extremely resilient bunch.
