Probably fata - but a Calgarian won the 50/50 tonight. $68,000

I noticed that too. He blasts into the zone (ignores his teammates) on a 1 on 2, takes a bad shot from a bad angle, coughs up the puck and allows the other team to gain an odd man rush the other way as he glides to the bench. But hey, he won the Corsi!

This is the reason why I don't question Bob Hartley's decision anymore this season. People were ticked off because Sam Bennett is not the lineup and the guy who is supposed to be replacing (Granlund) just scored 2 goals and that whole line was great tonight. Jooris-Granlund-Ferland line was all over the ice. Hudler-Monahan-Gaudreau's line was fun to watch with all those tic-tac-toe passing. Too bad they didn't score. I think Hiller should not start the game because he tends to play better whenever come in to the game. Anyways, he was good tonight. Good win against the Coilers and this is not even their best game. Not sure but I feel that the game was kind of slow but that just could be me.

Well, 3 more games and we didn't really gain anything from Winnipeg and LA tonight as both teams won the game also.

I'd like to think they would lose both of those games. However the Blues always seem to crap the bed against the teams we're battling with for a playoff spot...and it's always right after they look like Cup champs when playing the Flames. So frustrating. I can't stand that freakin' team.

Why do an Oiler fan a favour by taking away a woman with bruises on her legs?

For that matter, why do his wife a favour by giving her a lift out of Edmonton?

So after the bad first, a pretty good game by the whole team. If I had to pick a worst Flame it might be Backlund, but even he was generally good. Hiller was a stud all game, shame he doesn't get a pure shutout. Best skater? They took turns - Colborne, Wideman, Jooris, Granlund, Gaudreau, Monahan.

Too bad Hiller hit that post.

NHL Public Relations @PR_NHL
Did You Know? @NHLFlames' 4-0 W featured longest relief appearance in a team shutout in NHL history (via Elias).

To further assert dominance on Edmonton and destroy the only thing they have left?

I dunno, too cruel?

Over confident first period, then we warmed up and gradually played more and more flames hockey.
Ironic that the top 2 names to be pulled out for the 18 yr old kid were Colborne and Granlund. As much as look forward to Bennett's arrival (and as easy of an introduction it would have been tonight) I am glad to see the flames demonstrate confidence for the team that has blown our (and much of the hockey worlds' mind).
Next Saturday night may end up being a night where I tell the wife not to talk to me and to ignore the 160 decibel volume coming from the basement TV.

(Final comment. Don't like the title of this thread. Edmonton is bad, but we are better than this)

I didn't know until they said it on air than Bennett only got in at 1 am last night. Glad he wasn't started. That's not putting him in a position to succeed.

Their 1st was an abortion of epic proportions. Literally their worst opener in 2 years. After that they were just fine. But the problem is that over the last few games Calgary hasn't really looked that good. I think playoffs are going to be tight to make it. I hope to god they do but I dunno, they play like that first period again and they're screwed. Any other team and that game is down 4-1 end of first and a completely different story. They NEED to show up for Arizona which just crushed San Jose tonight.

Yay flames! Go flames go. Flames just got stronger as the game went on. Hall was his usual brutal self and the Flames secondary scorers were brilliant! So happy to see Jooris's line so on fire tonight. Those pics of the Flames fans with the We *heart* Lowe signs made my night, what legends.

Agreed. I'm happy with the win tonight, as we desperately needed the 2 points. But if the Flames play another first period like they did tonight in these last 3 games, this team is in trouble and likely won't make the dance. They need to show up ready to play at puck drop if they want to get in, especially against the Kings and Jets.

You better be eating lasagna for the Flames remaining games and we don't care if you get sick from it.
