Ramo potential injury (groin?)
since it is going to be asked a million times:
Ramo went down with an injury 58 seconds into the game.
Ortio JUST started light skating with equipment on after a significant injury. He is not ready.
Brad Thiessen is the only other goalie in the organization that has a NHL contract so he is likely called up as an emergency call up.
An emergency call up can be used when a team can't dress 12 forwards, 6 defencemen and 2 goalies due to injury or illness.
It does not matter if the Flames have used 4 of their 4 non-emergency post trade deadline call ups as this will be an emergency
update:
Friedman says it is a groin injury and Ramo will have an MRI tomorrow.
Hartley called it a day to day injury.
Randy Sportak @SUNRandySportak
Saw #Flames Karri Ramo in the room briefly. Didn’t have a cast or anything on his leg. May have had a slight limp, but nothing pronounced

Hopefully Hiller can hold down the fort and the Flames sign Gillies after their final 4 performance is completed.

Just looking, I guess Gillies and (potential UFA, fingers crossed) Matt O'Conner is playing.
Mason MacDonald is also injured too

Gillies is in Boston for the Frozen Four -- next game is Apr 9, Championship game is Apr 11.

Curious who they can dress during the game (or if they even do that)?
Pull a goalie out of the stands, throw some pads on him?

Flames goalie coach Jordan Sigalet is the Flames emergency back up for situation like that.

Similar to the Douglas Murray tryout, we could sign a free agent -- they just wouldn't be eligible for the playoffs, right?
Is Bryzgalov available?!?

Yes any UFA they sign right now would not be eligible for the playoffs.
My understanding is that draft picks like Gillies and McDonald would be eligible to play in the playoffs as they are on the teams 80 man reserve list at the trade deadline (not to be confused with the 50 contract limit).
Gillies, could technically leave his team in the middle of a national title bid but unlikely he would do that to his teammates, would only be hypothetically available April 9th at the earliest or April 11 at the latest.
Also Gillies with 0 pro games might not be an ideal situation to throw him into.
McDonald suffered an injury a few days ago. It is suspected it is a knee sprain but could be a tear.

Well, Judging by Ramo's reaction to such a small move, he's going to be out a while. Just a guess on my part . Hiller's going to have to find the next gear.

Real tough break for Ramo. The way things were going, I don't think re-signing him was out of the question, but Hiller will get a chance to close that door now if Ramo is out long term and Hiller can seize the opportunity by playing out of his mind from here on out.

As for Carr, he does not have a NHL contract. Flames could sign him to one right now, but my understanding is that like signing an UFA he wouldn't be eligible for the playoffs.

Worth noting that Thiessen has played 5 NHL games with Pittsburgh a few years back.
