Should be the NHL hall of fame since Makarov isn't in there and Brenie Federko is.

So Ford isn't going to make them any dumber.

I wish this was an April fool's day joke but it's April 4th. Hockey is thought of as a second rate sport in the U.S. and this only enhances that belief. Lanny do something!

The guy is battling cancer (amongst other issues), I wish him the very best in his fight. But he should NOT be a part of the HHoF.

I checked to see if the timeline of the story was April 1. I was dissapointed. That being said, the HHoF needs a wakeup call in a lot of ways. Their website is archaic, they haven't really updated fan activities there in 20 years, and you can't buy a yearly or family pass.

Well, I guess we can expect to see Tie Domi and Glen Healy to be inducted next year.

Based on this comment and the others, most of you don't know how nomination and selection for the HHOF work.

I thought he played football, not hockey. I also thought he was going to be out of commission from city council again due to another upcoming operation this week. I feel terrible for the guy and I really don't know what to say other than this doesn't make any sense at all. I don't understand who at the HHOF thought this was good unless Ford really wanted to join and they acquiesced.

If Rob Ford managed to become employed by the HHOF, I am pretty much assuming anything is possible at this point.

My understanding is that it's the board that manages the actual Hall of Fame Museum in Toronto and has nothing to do with the inductions to the Hall.

He was appointed as one of the city's three representatives on the board. He is a Toronto city councilor and one of the duties of any councilor is to sit on various city boards. It's no different than a Calgary city councilor sitting on the Stampede Board.

The Hall of Fame had no say in his appointment to the board, and he will have no say in any future inductions to the actual Hall.

Why do you care what the U.S. thinks?
