39 would be good for him but #93 I think fits him so perfectly and so well. Love love love #93 on the guy.

Thank you! I was worried I was the only one who kept thinking of this with his name. Definitely need a GIF/vid of this for whenever Sam gets a penalty/fight.

As much as I would to see Bennett in against the oilers, I don't see him getting in. The team we have got us here, and giving him a couple practices seems more likely.
I hope I'm wrong.

Stajan has been playing very well lately, so a line of Bennett - Stajan - Shore makes a tonne of sense.

I can't wait until the Bennett era begins. We have a lot of good players at the moment, but to me he's the best of the bunch.

When all of them are in their prime... The flames will hopefully be a team that comes at opponents in waves the same way St. Louis and Chicago do.

Oh, you survived the Monohan line? Bennett is coming up next.

Key discussion all day for Sam Bennett. Flames had no more recalls from AHL...only allowed 4 after trade deadline.

CGY recalled Bennett to NHL club because Flames have used their 4 call-ups from AHL. If he'd been put in ADK, would've been locked there...

...until ADK's season over. Putting him with NHL club gives them more flexibility.
Came here with a question, sureloss found a way to answer it before even asking.

What??

He has been dreadful the last week or so....last night was just abysmal.

That being said, he is still capable of very good play at both ends of the ice, so others should and will sit before he does, but he is most certainly in one of his inconsistent phases.

Bennett must be wearing 63 until the time comes when he's established and allowed to choose whichever number he wants.

I personally hope he chooses to wear 39 to honour Flames-era Gilmour, but 93 is his thing and he would immediately become the best player in the NHL to ever wear 93...

I'm thinking Backlund is playing hurt. He's no offensive superstar but rarely does he make bad plays, to see so many gaffes in a short period has to indicate something is up with him.

I was actually thinking 39 - which is of course, equally non-prime

Not sure where my head was at that moment

Of course he's not the Messiah riding into town on a white horse.

His horse is brown.

It will be especially great if he plays against the oilers tomorrow night... They play like a junior team most of the time anyways so it won't feel like much of an adjustment.

The point is, we MUST beat the Oilers. If Bennett's enthusiasm is enough to push our attitude to LA King-Oiler-destroying mode, then put him in, dammit!

If I were to make a last minute trip to Edmonton tomorrow in hopes of watching Bennett play, does anyone have suggestions on the best way to grab tickets?
Kijiji and StubHub seem to think the Oilers are a playoff team based on pricing (more than flames games) and I am wondering with their poor performance, if tickets might be had at the box office just before the game or if they have their version of the C train scalpers?
